Bar BS3 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I get a little nervous around Permiership referees now, so I feel are inclined to duck big decisions because they are used to the "safety net" of VAR. Without this, they are somewhat out of practise with being in full control of a game. 3 1 Quote
Numero Uno Posted January 8 Posted January 8 So we get a referee who calls the Wolves players by their first names, "mate" and the like whilst our lads are referred to as "number 16", "6" etc. Something for the players to look forward to anyway...... 2 Quote
Never to the dark side Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 Could our players be provided with sticky white labels, and affix them to the heart shirt area and write their first names on them? This could then avoid confusion between "your mates" and the City players. 3 Quote

From what I've read about this particular 'man in black, for once,Scott(Twine) can play the amateur dramatics with a decent chance of getting the decision Quote

Are they allowed to do that? Opens up a whole can of whoopass if a dodgy decision went against the "unknown" team. Quote

Gillies Downs Leeds Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Can't see him not knowing our players names. Even refs at Western League level speak to both teams before the game and learn their names. Quote

Don’t know if they are allowed but I’m sure plenty on here have experienced it when playing. I know I have. Quote

Refs now tend to officiate at a certain level are almost certainly on first name terms with players at their level. They might know our players names but won’t have that relationship with all of them I wouldn’t think. E.g if Morrison plays Saturday. Edited January 8 by Numero Uno Quote

Refs prep for games the same as players and you can bet he’s in the conversation……goes down easily. Quote

How many has he been denied, 2 good shouts minimum? One of which at 0-0 away from Home in a game in which both sides have a horrible record when conceding first.
