On Thursday they made Stade de Reims central defender and captain Emmanuel Agbadou their first signing under Vitor Pereira. The Ivory Coast international, who joins on a four-and-a-half-year deal which contains an additional 12-month option, moves having spent the past two-and-a-half seasons playing consistently in Ligue 1. We have (so far) made the final just once. The match was played on 24 April 1909 at Crystal Palace, and was against Manchester United we were both in the First Division. Manchester United won by a single goal, scored by Sandy Turnbull midway through the first half. This was the first of Manchester United's FA Cup final wins, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1909_FA_Cup_final Wolves reached their first final in the competition in the 1888/89 season. Historically in the EFL, league winners were required to play 14 games across the season to earn a medal, but in March 2021 that changed to five, seeing 26 former players become eligible. One individual effected was Wolves’ Stockin, who was rewarded for his efforts retrospectively with a medal, having played six times in the club’s First Division success of 1953/54. At the time, aged 90, Stockin was still based in the West Midlands and was presented with his medal at his home at Richmond Court Nursing Home. He died in July 2024. The original set of floodlights erected in 1953 were later sold to Burton Albion and a new set were officially switched on in 1965 again versus Wolverhampton Wanderers, the same club which provided the opposition for the 1953 switch-on. It was a Division 2 league game that we lost 1-0. The crowd was 36,184. The pylons to the ones switched on in 1965 were subsequently given to Wigan Athletic (Springfield Park) in 1992 when the four corner pylons were removed and the replacement lamps were fitted along the front of the Dolman and Williams roof. This is because the Black Country city has the joint lowest score for the quality of its green space and parks (50.00), the second highest rating for air pollution (68.75) alongside the limited number of walking trails (26) and the total number of parks (18) for its population. It's open to debate whether Wolvo is in the Black Country, but it's definitely a shitehole. Quote

The chief Posted Saturday at 09:00 Posted Saturday at 09:00 Lovely morning here in BS3. Hoping Bell gets a run today and repeats his cup goal scoring exploits of a couple of seasons ago . Bell ends Wolves cup dreams?! Like so many I have a profound dislike of Wolves magnified by that game in late 2017 that seemed so pivotal. Would enjoy a win today massively. If we start welll the big crowd could get us going - even with the stupid KO time. COYR. 2 Quote

John Lennon lookie-likee . I was at that game. As you say a towering header, from a corner iirc. Head and shoulders above everyone else. I thought we had signed a real ace goal scorer at that stage. but as you say didn't work out. 1 Quote

I was also at Molyneux for the Boxing Day game the day before the second set of lights were used. One other bit of history is that we last won a match away to Wolves in 1931. Will I be there when we do win? Doubtful! I was as well, was the Boxing day one where it was so cold they were carrying some people out on stretchers who were overcome with it. I went up with a few friends in my works Morris Minor van, one in the front, the rest in the back of the van. Those were the days! 1 Quote
Show Me The Money! Posted Saturday at 09:39 Posted Saturday at 09:39 Anyone know if there will be some sort of ground safety assessment this morning? You know what it’s like now a days. Single flake of snow can call games off 1 Quote

Shauntaylor85 Posted Saturday at 10:41 Posted Saturday at 10:41 This is a big game for me due to knowing so many Wolves fans who are full of it! I think I dislike Wolves more than the Gas. Let’s beat them! 1 Quote
ProfitInMyPocket Posted Saturday at 11:03 Posted Saturday at 11:03 They are pretty much full strength bar a couple, debatably the goalie and Cunha out. They ain't mucking around today. Should be a good one. Quote
