myoudale Posted December 28, 2003 Posted December 28, 2003 glad to hear he is scoring again in a first team game
Dan Of The Dolman Posted December 28, 2003 Posted December 28, 2003 Lee Matthews needs to prove to Danny Wilson and to the fans that if he was given a chance he could do what I know he can,the Bristol Rovers LDV match was when we saw him at his best only in the team because of an injury/suspension to Tony Thorpe and he gave Danny Wilson and the fans a stern reminder of what he had to offer, maybe after this loan spell he can come back and try to force his way back into the first team but with Peacock,Miller,Roberts,Lita also in competition for a place then it would be hard but what if the next month and I hope this doesn't happen but Peacock or Miller were to get injured with Luke Wilkshire away Roberts would have to play on wing and would Danny play Leroy Lita I don't think so he will come out with more garbage about how unexperienced he is but if he is the only one scoring the goals then he warrants a place. I think at Brentford he reminded me of Mark Robins in a way as he knew what posistions to be in and the winner reminded me of Robins goal Vs Northampton at Sixfields last season he was in the right place and had a easy chance which he couldn't miss but I haven't seen to much of our strikers being in the right place at the right time but anyway this would mean Wilson's only choice would be to play Lee Matthews as Wilson would be more confident of Matthews then Lita I suspect so we may have not seen the last of Lee Matthews playing and hopefully scoring for City!
x3widRacin Posted December 28, 2003 Author Posted December 28, 2003 Apparently he's not doing that well..... In the 69th minute, the best opportunity of the match was spurned by on loan Lee Matthews. Wainwright...cut a perfect ball accross the goal. Matthews, completely unmarked and just 6 yards out, somehow managed to place the ball wide of the target with just the keeper to beat.
