Guest lilciderhed Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 In MY opinion Doherty was showing signs of Brian Tinnion, yesterday. He got stuck in, dont recall him giving away a foul , congered up some brilliant cross field balls, and played in Roberts once or twice. Now, if Doherty can put in more performences like that Doherty and Tinman in the middle while Wilkshire is away doesnt look so bad after all. Tommy can learn alot from Brian, and I hope he can keep putting in performences like that and he can keep his cool, it might be hard for Wilkshire to get back his place when he comes back?
myoudale Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 agree played vey well on weekend hope he keeps improving we will have a tins just hope he doesnt want to leave to a higher division if we dont get promotion but I'm sure we will
madmax Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 But did you see one of their players give him a smack just before Peacock scored. He didn't retaliate and did his best to make sure the referee knew about it and had blood coming from his mouth. Fair play to him for not retaliating and keep up the good work, very impressed on Sunday Mr D. MM
gater2 Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 He must be DW's choice to replace Wilkshire in his absence in my view. With his ball winning ability and strength and Tinman's creativity, they should be the perfect midfield paring in theory...
Robbored Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 I think it was Docherty who played Brown in for the second goal with a lovely paced through ball. Docherty had a good game yesterday and importantly lasted the whole 90mins.Maybe he's packed in the fags. As for replacing Wilkshire - Docherty has played loads of times with Tinnion and should therefore be able to slide into a central midfield role without difficulty, but he's nowhere near as offensively minded as Wilkshire and City may miss that extra bit of creativity going forward.Thats why Clist might get another run in the side but this time in central midfield, not on the right side as before.
arpaul Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 In MY opinion Doherty was showing signs of Brian Tinnion, yesterday. He got stuck in, dont recall him giving away a foul The difference being that Doherty actually does get stuck in. However, he didn't slow play down, didn't pass the ball behind our advancing fullbacks and attacking wide men, didn't look to use just one foot, and didn't fade as the game went on. I didn't think he looked anything like Tinnion. What about Doherty-Clist in Wilkshires absence ??
