elhombrecito
With the date of the C'field game rapidly approaching it has occurred to me that the only thing I have heard about the East End being open (apart from this forum) has been a single leaflet being passed around at Rushden. I thought that the main reason that people were calling for another EE game was that they would have time to fully publicise it? I could be wrong, and may have missed any publicity but it seems that if this fails then those who were campaigning for it only have themselves to blame. Guest wishbone
I don't live in Bristol, but i heard about the East End opening up from comments on the forum. I visited my family over Xmas & they knew nothing of it.
Guest Friday The 13th
The best thing would be to publicise this at the game and enable supporters to gain access using their season tickets. This would receive a much bigger response than just selling tickets in advance. More people will be up for it actually at the game than say going down to AG to swap their tickets on the weekday. lukejones2
Whilst I am indifferent and will not be in the Wedlock stand, why don't those people who are calling for publicity get a little proactive. Write a letter/column on the history of the east end and the chance to celebrate the "hey days" of the 70's by a return, post it to the EP and hey presto - publicity!! Call the radio stations, phone your mates - do your bit!

Bingo!! Ever fancied a shot at being Chief Exec, it really is that simple, those that want to go in there can do so by either paying on the day or handing over their season ticket voucher at the turnstyle, my god, you sir are a genious, now why can't these simple ideas come from our chairman/board etc. Not everyone can make it to the gate during the week as not everyone lives near Bristol and believe it or not some of us actually work during the week as well. lukejones2
The club have actually said they will do this! No, the club said they would ask the EP to print a story and would be making press releases. The club never said they would write letters for letters pages and phone chat shows etc... Like I say, I couldn't care less but peopleseem to want everything on a plate. My suggestion as previously made is not to moan about the lac of publicity as you are likely to have no effect. If you want something done, at least try to do it yourself. I will not bother getting into a discussion about this, it's advice. Take it or leave it. Guest knapster
what about if someone from the press (the evening post/greenun) were to print an article as you said about welcoming back the east end that was so good in the seventies, the extra revenue that would be made would be quite a large margain away from the sum of money made, had it not been advertised, etc. So why are the club neglecting to make its own advertisements or at least make an effort to do something to exploit this situation? After all it is the club's fault if they do not advertise, knapster
lukejones2
You obviously completely miss my point. Like I say, I shan't be getting into a discussion.
Guest WillsbridgeRed
I think you all need to realise - THE CLUB DON'T WANT THE EAST END TO WORK
Guest Bow_Legged_Chicken
A few points. 1. The first point about some of us saying w ewould publicise it. A few of us did say we would publicise this but due to work and college and extreme lack of money this has become hard. Also with the club promising they would do various things to publicise it, i saw no need in going through such a struggle when the club could easily do it for us. 2. About handing in the season ticket vouchers on the gates and pay on the day. I heard that it was pay on the day but i may be wrong. However changing your season ticket would have to be done by midday on the day. This is just what i thought and i could be wrong. As for handing in season ticket vouchers this is impossible as if this were to happen the club wouldn not know that they can sell your seat for the game so therefore would have to assume that you will be sitting in it and leave it unoccupied. This would mean if we were to have a arge turn out people culd be told they can to gain access to a stand as there is no space, even though our season ticket seats would be availiable. Obviously that would mean one less person paying and every time this happens the club lose however much it is for a ticket. And its for not noticing problems like this with yours and other peoples ideas that you are not our chief exec 3. About the club not wanting it to work. I care if the club does or doesn't want it to work using fan power we can make it work, if we make it work we will be able to go in their more often. So why don't everyone give it just one chance at Chesterfield, every person that says no it will be rubbish, or i dunno it might not be as good. You never know untill you try, and if just half of you go in there and sing and give it this one chance i can almost guarentee you a fantastic time win, lose or draw. screech
Reply to Willsbridge If that's the case then it's doomed, not having tickets available on the day is crazy, as you can get a ticket for any other stand on the day, so why not this stand?? Oh I think you have already answered this one, "The club don't want it to work".
Guest EdF
An article is due to appear in this weekend's Green Un and reminders should follow in the Post leading up to the game. The ticket details were printed in the two match programmes before the New Year, and stories will be run on the official site in the lead up to the game.
