nosmo king
January 10, 2004 Cureton: not signing? It seems that Kevin Cooper's fellow trialist at SAFC, Jamie Cureton, will NOT be signing on loan after all. The two started a week's trial with Sunderland within days of each other, and Cooper started a three month loan period earlier this week - but it seems that Cureton won't be following suit. Cureton left Reading to join South Korean team Busan Icons in the summer but hasn't settled successfully and is looking for a return to English football. Metro FM's Simon Crabtree said this afternoon that he'd heard from the club that Cureton has now finished his trial with Sunderland, but will not be signing a loan deal. Our opponents this weekend Nottingham Forest, and Bristol City are said to be keeping an eye on the player's progress. Admin Ian M Posted January 11, 2004 Admin Share Posted January 11, 2004 Sign him on then we'll really go after that 1st place. We create enough chances per game to win comfortably every week, we just need someone clinical up top.
JudgeRed
Signing Jamie Cureton could be an extremely dodgy move. Cureton is ex Gas and was substituted by Reading, when he last played against us, due to chants of 'paedo' eminating from the Williams stand. If Jamie Cureton is signed he will probably have to hit the ground running by scoring a hat-trick to keep some City fans off his back. I'll remain neutral as I recognise the fact that we need a goal poacher like Cureton up front. Posted on Jan 11 2004, 12:40 PM - Red Gobling The past might return to haunt us? (Hope not!!!). Shame people who were giving him a hard time did not think at the time 'What goes around. Comes around' Chanting from The Williams stand? are you sure!!!!? :Hmm, yeah that's really funny Tarquin.: :Hmm, yeah that's really funny Tarquin.:
gater2
At the end of the day we should all be behind Cureton if he's wearing the BCFC shirt no matter which teams he's played for in the past. DW's last 3 signings have been young players in their early 20s, Cureton is 28 and would offer that bit more experience, and simply he'd score lots of goals in this division. SIGN HIM! Guest Harry May
He will be mad if he signs for us. Imagine if he has a barren spell , how a significant proportion of our fans will get on his back. He was taunted without mercy when he last played against us - with his family in the crowd. And he bottled it. Sometimes that sort of hostility can fire up a player , but he allowed it to get to him. It would be a bad move for him , and for us. Caldicot Red.
