Guest Eddie Hitler
as against £50k for the LDV. Let's forget about promotion next year Or go down to the third where we get £5k for third place as against nothing in the second. Hmmmm. Anyway, I found it an interesting read: http://www.boardroomblues.co.uk/flmoney.htm
cheshire_red
And you win half that (£12,500) for winning a 1st round FA Cup match!
Taz
The question is, do you still think that the LDV trophy is a "Mickey Mouse Cup"!? That isn't right: £50k for the LDV and £25k for the league!!
arpaul
Yes, but add to that the increase in revenue from larger crowds that 1st Division football would bring. increased television pay out. (I think its something like an extra £500,000 for every place difference in the table) Worth a penny or two I know.
tompo
Presumably it more beneficial (from the financial side) to get promoted via the play offs. Cuts of takings from semi final games and a share of the takings from the final plus all of the spin offs that would bring (t-shirts, flags etc). How very true, Cardiff fans thought Sam was very pleased with that last season.
