lukejones2
In my boredom I was just thinking... now, I think Tins is the right man for the job at City and that there should be no talk of him going anywhere until the end of next season. That, for me, is when things should be reconsidered if necessary. That lead me onto wondering when most teams lose/sack their managers? I began to think about which teams don't have managers at the moment and I can only think (top of my head admittedly) of 3 - Man City, Hearts and Millwall. So - two questions - 1 = have I missed any managerless clubs in England/Scotland?2 = when do you think is the best time to consider the position of a manager in general (ie for me it is the END of a season.) Dollymarie
Stuart Pearce was appointed Man City Manager on Friday last week, sorry Luke, so that leaves only 2 from your list.Dollymarie
Frank Reynolds
When the manager shows no sign of being able to do the job effectively, shows signs of lacking man management skills, and also displays the fact that its his way or the highway, even when his way is wrong.Thats when you know that your manager has to go in my opinion. lukejones2
When the manager shows no sign of being able to do the job effectively, ←Fair enough... at any time obviously.Given the above, I assume yuo agree that Tinnion should stay as manager given his showing signs of improvement and becoming a manager now...Actually, probably shouldnt start this debate here... No City fan could disagree with that whatever his opinion of Tinman. Especially as it was hardly the 'first offence' for some of them. Not to worry though, several of those that let us down are unlikely to be appearing on the squad photo for next season. Hope not anyway, we'll need every man in the squad pulling in the same direction next season and giving 100% for the Shirt and the fans.

Frank Reynolds
As I assume you're talking of Doherty, no, I don't think he should be shown the door yet.Tins and Doherty should pull in the same direction, as the best players we have are the players that will get us out of this division. I don't think that Doc is bigger than the club, but nor do I think that Tins is.In my view they are both as bad as one another, and personally I'd rather have Doc as a midfielder than Tins as a manager. When QPR and Hollowhead get the best out of Tommy, and they have a quality midfielder on their hands, despite him loving City and QPR being miles behind us, despite Doc not wanting to leave the club, what will you say then? And no, I don't think Tins is the right man for the job. I agree with his policy of putting our best youth players into the team, but I disagree with most of the other things he does. I definately don't think he's the right man for the job, and its nothing to do with his lack of experience.
Tunley Legend
I keep hearing on this forum how much Doherty "loves" Bristol City yet the guy continually misses games through suspension, mainly due to bad mouthing referee's and it is clear to anybody with eyesight that his fitness levels have not been up to scratch for the majority of his career. Given that, how much does he really love the club?I will not attempt to argue with anybody who says that he is a talented player because he clearly is. However, I would like to see the right attitude harnessed with his undoubted ability, only then will we have "the best midfielder in our division". Unfortunately, Tinnion is by no means the first manager who seems to have had a problem with Doherty's attitude and I'm afraid that Lansdown's hint that he would be better served with a fresh challenge (i.e. take the guy out of his comfort zone) has a lot of truth about it. I'm not doubting his commitment or his ability but maybe him and the club have gone as far as they can together ?I'm trynna think of an appropriate swiss tony quote - playing for Bristol City is like making love to a beautifull woman........ anyone care to finish it ?
