headhunter
When Tommy first broke into the side in 97 /98 I thought that for the first time we had a midfielder with the attributes of Gerry Gow who made over 400 appearances and scored 53 from 1970 - 1980. Many followed after him in that tough tackling midfielders role and whilst Gary Shelton came close others were a poor imitation - Stroud, Galliers, Mellon [showed early promise], Martin and Kuhl all come to mind. Tommy had injury, health [glandular fever] and attitude problems after 98 and whilst last season he did OK his fitmess was questionable and his discipline record getting worse. I saw the Wycombe away game and I thought he was on the downward spiral again. Since he's come back he's done great and today was first class on all accounts. Well done Tommy - keep it up and it's just as well you are not out of contract in the summer

bobby
Tommy has a great game today and seems to have come back from a spell out of the first team with a renewed vigour and a much better fitness level. Post match interview with Danny suggests Tommy has been doing a load of extra work to improve his fitness level and this is making the difference - long may it last :Party27: If he gave up the fags he would be world class
