Calculus
John Galley at Huddersfield, and I still have the programme! Edit: Sorry, what a plonker. Just re-read the post - not actually at the Gate at all, but at Leeds Road, Hudderfield.
Port Said Red
John Galley at Huddersfield, and I still have the programme! Edit: Sorry, what a plonker. Just re-read the post - not actually at the Gate at all, but at Leeds Road, Hudderfield. I remember that, wasn't it his debut? I think he may have scored the first one I remember at the gate though. We were losing 1-3 at half time to Leyton Orient and won 5-3 I am pretty sure he scored a hat trick in the second half. I know Dickie Rooks scored our first but can't remember who got the other one. Tainton and Spiring were the other scorers Galley got 3 earlier that season at Sheff Wed. I think his first 3 at Ashton was against Charlton in 1969. Simez
The first hatrick I ever saw was by Alan Crawford in the 5-0 win over Torquay in september 1983.
fRed
The Goat at Ashton Gate against Wigan I think we won 3-0 I remember the old lady sat behind me asking if "we would mind staying seated if he scores so we can see all the hugging and kissing" as he lined up to take the penalty for his third goal. Best one we saw was not at Ashton Gate it was John Galley`s three against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough August 21st 1971 City won 5-1 that day Let`s hope we can have the same score up thur this year! Yer`s a HAT-TRICK! We be the only ones who aint wearin` one

fct
John Galley 1971 Vs Orient, all in the second half. Belter of an equaliser to make it 3-3 before we won 5-3.

arpaul
I know Dickie Rooks scored our first but can't remember who got the other one. If I remember correctly, Rooks hit his free kick so hard the restart was delayed whilst the net was refixed. ? I can remember the ball going through the net. Watched the game through the railings in front of the Cowshed, with my dad who was a couple of steps back up the terracing.

Lordofthebling
bob, bob, super bob, super bobby taylor - 3 great goals against, Crewe (?!) in 89 or 90 - i think - i was a little nipper!
Guest Barman
First one I saw was Steve Neville against Swindon in the FA Cup (1986ish), although I think I saw one before that - unfortunately Paul(?) Randall's for the Gas against us, also in the FA Cup. Carl Shutt got his four goals against Fulham in a league game - I seem to remember him tripping over whilst celebrating his fourth goal and head-butting an advertising board! Favourite hatrick has to be SuperBob's at Swansea in our promotion year in our 5-0 hammering of them - that was pretty special !
NATCHER
I believe "Super" Bob Taylor never finished a game that he had scored a hat-trick in. He was always subbed and therefore received the acclaim that he richly deserved. HAPPY DAYS !!!!!

Guest city slicker 71
Can't say my first was "are John's" 3 against Bury in 55 only saw 2 of em. didn't have to wait long when another 3 found the back of the net v Lincoln City. Andy Graver a good centre forward played for the imps that day. It was my second season watching the city and one I'll always remember not least of all turning over Plymouth 6-0 with Jimmy Rogers getting 3 Atyeo 2 & Tommy Burden we tore them to shreds that day only 24 hrs earlier they slapped us 5-0 on their patch. Tony Cook was if I remember eyed with suspicion as it was Boxing day and he 'd had a few! things don't change, difference between him and Steve Phillips is Cooky would have replied to name callers with a fist. Anyway that's enough of the cherished for now 3 points tomorrow me babs, Regards
Rutland Red
Just got back from Iraq and suprised to see that the forum has changed. Maybe I ought to go away again as City are doing well in my absence. Anyway, my first hat-trick I saw was against Birmingham on a Tuesday night the same season we beat Liverpool. Wayne Allison got it. Two vivid memories stay in my mind. It was absolutely ######ing down and Karen Brady nearly ran the home fans over when she left the Gate in a foul mood. BS4 on Tour...
I remember Tommy Tynan scoring a boxing day hatrick at Ashton Gate for Plymouth on Keith Waugh's debut (I think) but the cocky Pilgrims lost 4-3! Happy Days! :Hmm, yeah that's really funny Tarquin.:
