PhatWill
Typed in "Bristol City Forum" on google for some unknown reason and about 4 searches down is a message board that I set up in June 2000! Major topics of debate on it are currently- 1) Laycock must go! 2) Peter Jackson to be appointed as BCFC manager? 3) Then came talk of Wilson coming and I say - "I think DW will probably want too much money to spend and earn. Also i think DW is TOO nice.He seemed to of given up on Wednesday by Christmas." !!!! :Hmm, yeah that's really funny Tarquin.: 4) Setting up an Independant Supporters Association! Its now been taking over by football hooligans trying to arrange fights (must be the network 54 thing) but anyway strange to find it again all the same! Some contributors are: Madger, Percy, Big Red Rich but it never really caught on. BACK IN THE DAY: http://www.network54.com/Forum/67159

Guest Harry May
I can remember all the talk about Peter Jackson joining us. I think he did a good job at Huddersfield first time around. Then he was out of work for quite some time. He was doing some media work and I can remember him saying how he would love to manage the City. I think he's back at Huddersfield again. Caldicot Red. PhatWill
I can remember all the talk about Peter Jackson joining us. Paul Jewell was another name that was mentioned. To be honest I honestly had a job remembering who the hell Peter Jackson was, he also directed Lord of the Rings I believe.
Robbored
It would be interesting to see when we all joined - I remember Richieb introduced me to the Forum, but I can't remember when that was. Kustard was a main contributer as was TeePee - England now I beleve.Coshee was another who has since had several alternative names!.

Matty H
So we can't coax you back to contribute more? Hello Will. Not really mate. Why come on here and get my views thrown back at me and abuse hurled. I can go out in the street and get that with the right attitude. This forum used to be almost like a community but it lost its way due to juvenile idiots some while back and for me it's never been quite the same since. I still read the views everyday on here of the people whos opinions I still respect though

Matty H
But that is EXACTLY why it woulld be nice to see you back! Hi Red M. I havent gone anywhere really. Just a reader rather than a contributer now. There is too much b##ching and slagging off on here. I dont need it. Life can be stressful enough as it is. When I get online I just want to relax not get involved in a slanging match. Thanks for the sentiments though. Much appreciated

Guest eviltaxman
Oh no! serious flashbacks!! or am I just reliving my "Granary" days? nb... for those of you out there not old enough to remember the 70's & 80's, the Granary was THE rock nightclub in the area. It was a hole, but we still went back.
PhatWill
Hello Will. Not really mate. Why come on here and get my views thrown back at me and abuse hurled. I can go out in the street and get that with the right attitude. This forum used to be almost like a community but it lost its way due to juvenile idiots some while back and for me it's never been quite the same since. I still read the views everyday on here of the people whos opinions I still respect though Matty, you've posted 3.07% of todays posts - I'm sensing a comeback! I understand completely your reasoning for not using the forum regularly, even though it may seem disrespectful to the current crop of users, it just ain't as good as it use to be... There's nothing I like more than a heated debate but I always used to have so much respect for fellow posters that I jousted with on many occasion - richieb, robbored et al. Something has been lost somewhere, even if I can't put my finger on it. Try reading the forum while listening to Frank Sinatra, it mellows me out and ignore all the bull.... damn moderators. Dave L
This forum used to be almost like a community Matty It still is like a community .. just a different one, that's all. Any community is only as good as its members. Come on back and be part of it, and help make it better!
Andre_The_Giant
There used to be a lot more of this nostalgia on the old forum. BS4
PhatWill
I remember when Percy Parrot was about 14 on here and getting some abuse and he must be about 40 now (if not in years). Indeed, and I am the same age as Percy P...even back then he was organising lots of events for the club! An example of the community thing would be the attempt at setting up an ISA, with Madger, Big Red Rich and Kustard all being pretty active with that. richieb
I remember when Percy Parrot was about 14 on here and getting some abuse and he must be about 40 now (if not in years). Likewise, Robbored and Richieb must be about 70 now , Redtop is definitely at least 82 and Edson is a very young 68. I, of course, have managed to stall the march of time and remain forever 25 and a legend in my own lunch time. Which all goes to prove that there is no future in history. Yep, 70 & turning grey I must admit that recalling some of the old banter, its not the same, but I suppose much of that to the club showing increasing success (on & off ) the pitch. But I reckon those good humoured ( ) debates will come back.
