We don't stand a chance in hell of signing steve stone. Portsmouth need every player they can get with their injury crisis, and there's no way he'd join a second div club. Can't think of any obvious names off the top of my head. Is craig hignett playing regularly for leicester?

As good as Richardson is, aren't we forgetting that DW said an experienced midfielder.

With the season reaching a crucial stage, you don't want to be relying on a youngster who might need time to find his feet.

What experience does Richardson have? Apart from a few first team appearances for Man U, not a lot.

If we're going to sign anybody, expect to see somebody in the mould of Warhurst (who we were linked with in the summer) - A player that has played at the top level, and has a few years experience under his belt.

It could also be someone who is in a similar position to what Butler was in when he joined us last season. A player that is out of favour, has won a few trophies, and somebody who's contract is near it's expiry date.

neil mellor (striker i think)
Mellor`s on loan at West Ham isn`t he from Liverpool? I work with a Hammers season ticket holder and I haven`t heard a good word said, only that he`s a fat lump, I`m sure we`ve got someone already that fits that bill

I saw Steve Stone when Potsmouth played Southampton just before xmas and I must say I wa simpressed with him and for one minute couldn't imagine Portsmouth letting him go. I would think it will be a player along the lines of Neil Maddison and David Howells (I would settle for him after his last spell with us). I think we wil aim to get someone in like them, I would like to see a left or right winger, drop Brown and then move Goodfellow to the opposite side. In saying that I thought Brown contributed to alot of the play at Hartlepool. What ever happens, I am surprised that we are able to bring someone in even if it is on loan
