Gerry Gows' Tash
Would you please pass on my thanks to the lady I spoke to in the ticket office this week. I rang to see if I could change my seat for the rest of the season and she could not have been more helpful. This season I have felt intimidated by some of the supporters sitting next to me due the them blowing smoke in my face and by other anti social behaviour, and she very kindly found me another seat, between season ticket holders I that I know, so that this can't happen again.I thought I was going to have to plead my case but she agreed to the switch on the spot and processed it there and then without a charge. You get a lot of criticism here and I thought I would say thank you for a change.User is offlineProfile CardPM Report PostGo to the top of the pageThis on the Stevel L forum - so not only are all smokers anti social and intimidating (by which he probably means singing shouting and occasional swearing tut tut) but there's no such thing as a smoking season ticket holder ! I've got news for him I smoke like a trooper and I'm a season ticket holder and why didn't you buy a ticket in the non smoking section to start with dummer ? They simply say they're sat amongst a group of people that blew smoke in their face amongst other things.Second - where do they explicitly state or even imply that season ticket holders don't smoke. They didn't imply anything about the season ticket status of the anti-social lot, and they don't state that just because his friends are non-smoking season ticket holders, everyone else is the same.Your logic is off the wall -and your blind fury towards anti-smoking fascists is colouring your judgement. As for opinion - if people want to smoke in open spaces let them - but if some inconsiderate fool is blowing smoke straight in my face, do you think that's acceptable?Sounds like the 'dummer' is only being reasonable. If he was a facist, he would have insisted that everyone else stopped smoking around him.

Ashton gate is an open air football ground, smoking, swearing, drinking (some grounds) and yeah often bad a whiff in the air! ten years ago no one moaned about these occurrences it is part of football, iused to smoke, i am not a reformed smoker. If you so called i,ll change this and that people don't like it why don't you get tickets to the colston hall or similar.

CiderHider
In the grand scheme of things bleeting on about smoking at AG has to be ranked well at the bottom.Right, I've had my fag & I'm pleased to say I have seen the light & reconsidered.I would propose the following:A ban on hot dogs - they may offend our muslim fansActually a ban on all meat products - offensive to our vegetarian fansA ban on the wearing of replica shirts, scarves, hats, badges etc - visiting fans may find these offensiveA ban on any chanting - visiting fans may find these offensiveAll teams to be made up of 5 men & 6 - football has been a men only game for too longAll teams to include at least one afro-carribean, one south-east asian, one native american, one disabled, one gay/lesbian player A ban on season tickets - why should someone who can afford one be able to reserve a seat - this is offensive to the more fiscally challenged fan. It's for the best I tell you.And if anyone disagrees I will be offended & will be seeking compensation No clapping either - could offend Phalidomides

Gerry Gows' Tash
If you're going to call someone 'dummer' on another one of your paranoid 'facists are out to get me' rants, you ought to get your facts right, otherwise you're going to look very very very stupid.First - where does he/she say that *all* smokers are anti-social and intimidating? They simply say they're sat amongst a group of people that blew smoke in their face amongst other things. He doesn't explicitly it's called implication, he's obviusly a non- smoker so why did he sit in the smoking area in the first place, unless it was just to complain about it ? Second - where do they explicitly state or even imply that season ticket holders don't smoke. They didn't imply anything about the season ticket status of the anti-social lot, and they don't state that just because his friends are non-smoking season ticket holders, everyone else is the same. Why did he mention season ticket holders at all as its clearly not relevant ?Your logic is off the wall -and your blind fury towards anti-smoking fascists is colouring your judgement. You're entitled to your opinion, mine is that anti-smoking fascists are colouring my enjoyment of football, they are shortly going to start on pubs, thus ruining my enjoyment of a night out as well. They won't stop there either, next they'll be campaigning against "junk food" at the Gate, and then alcohol. As for opinion - if people want to smoke in open spaces let them - but if some inconsiderate fool is blowing smoke straight in my face, do you think that's acceptable?Ashton Gate is an open space and I'd expect to move to a no smoking section if it bothered youSounds like the 'dummer' is only being reasonable. If he was a facist, he would have insisted that everyone else stopped smoking around him.I refer you to my previous answer - if it bothered him why didnt he sit in the non-smoking section, it's not complicated
Guest The Codfather 0312
From now on I must not go outside because the fumes a car lets out in 5 minutes is by far worse than those of which I will let out in the coarse of a football match. In fact A car will let out more fumes in 90 minutes than I would in a year.Thats bad for my health and I don't drive so I suggest a ban on all vehicles that emit smoke. Sounds silly don't it? Well thats how silly it sounds when someone goes on about passive smoking and how there going to get lung cancer from it. Wake up your not going to get cancer from someone sat near you having a fag are you?My Nan lived to the age of 89 and died of old age. She smoked 40 fags a day from when she was 16 and she never got lung cancer. There are many things that annoy me at a football game but I don't complain about them.
