SimplyRed
So City get beat a second time to a poor league 2 side on a cold, wet night. All I can say is there's plenty of those to come yet this season and it looks like Mr Magic is having the same problems his predecessors had in motivating his side and getting them playing with some consistency.Maybe it can be put down to an off night, or maybe it can be attributed to a psychological advantage after beating us at home, but it's worrying that a brand, new manager seems unable, at times, to get the best out of the players. He's already talking about more loan signings. Do we need more loan signings? Or do we need to have a serious look at how we approach games and perhaps try some different tactics and formations? On paper, we are rumoured to have one of the strongest squads in the league - so why can't they play together consistently as a team? PhatWill
Yeh, Johnson has clearly lost it overnight! What with the PC BS you've spouted on here with regards to crowd behaviour and your poor knowledge of how football teams defend corners you really seem to have lost the plot.We had the equivalent of 2 conference standard players at the back tonight, so no suprise we conceded 3.Disappointing performance but let's be fair, who cares?Shabby, 3rd rate cup competition...onto Oldham we go...Johnson's teams don't seem to draw many that's for sure so expect defeats amongst the wins. Alex_BCFC
Even the Barnet website said we controlled the game, were denied on a decent penalty shout and had enough chances to win easily. There is no need to panic. When we get reasonable people in for Fortune, Carey and Woodman we will be fine. Phatwill, I don't accept you point about not caring about tonight. I like to see us win every game, even if it isn't the league but the LDV. We should be trying to win these games for morale, confidence and the fans who bothered to make the trip. We were unlucky tonight by all accounts and I hope we can get at least a point at Oldham.

Robbored
Johnson has said many times that he wants "a winning" mentality throughout the club.Thats a great philosophy to have but it won't develop overnight.Johnson's record at Yeovil shows that he loses many games but hardly draws any.I think Yeovil came up having lost loads of games last season but they won just as many.We have to get used to City losing more often but winning more - if that makes sense! rayer
I'm just glad that last night was just an LDV game. It gave Jonno another chance to view the squad and its weaknesses, and no points were lost in the process. It will come good.

Listen, why don't you spare yourself the trouble of having to read my idiotic posts and simply click on the ignore button. At least then I wouldn't have to deal with your personal abuse and crass remarks. We had the equivalent of 2 conference standard players at the back tonight, so no suprise we conceded 3.oh yes? Who was that then?Disappointing performance but let's be fair, who cares?Shabby, 3rd rate cup competition...onto Oldham we go...Johnson's teams don't seem to draw many that's for sure so expect defeats amongst the wins.Any cup competition is worth it, if only for the extra revenue it brings in and the chance to look at players on the fringe of the first team.Johnson's teams may not draw many but let's hope he wins the games we would've drawn, eh? Guest BrotherErnieFromBarrowGurney
I'm assuming he means Carey, Woodman and Fortune.I'm afraid I have to agree about Fortune, whenever he plays we seem to be terrible at the back, I can't see him being around much longer. As for Woodman, he is OK at this level but just keeping the seat warm for Golbourne I think and Carey is just a bit out of form at the moment, but over the last ten years has been one of our most reliable defenders. His form will come back. Stewart needs a rest to get some form back and Bridges deserves a start in his place.
Chivs
We have to get used to City losing more often but winning more - if that makes sense! In a Cup competition it makes no sense whatsoever.Top class teams DO NOT lose games. This is the history of football. A good team does not lose. If you are right about GJ's tactics this makes him a bad manager, IMO.I'm also annoyed about other posters saying "this was only a poxy mickey mouse game, who cares if we lost". When I played a kickaround in the playground, or a friendly for my pub team, or a serious competitive game, I absolutely hated losing. Whatever the game, wherever the game. Of our players I think Brooker is the only player with this mentality. That sums it all up. :sad21:
