Guest The Traveller
get rid of millen. he is in charge or our so called defenders, we need a coach who can coach, not one of tinnions mates. we need someone who can get some discipline into our defenders. the amount of goals we let in is just not good enough. carey, fortune, woodman not good enough. these players need help and they need it now. COME ON JOHNSON ACT.

Jimmy
Saying that how many def partnerships have we had this season? This is the problem. We need Heywood fit again to partner Partridge, these two would form a solid partnership and do much to shore up our worryingly fragile defense. Guest The Traveller
ashtonyate you may well be right millen might be doing the job gary is asking, what it is who knows. he has been coaching the defence not very well on the results since he has been at the club. Nibor
tinnion did give millen the job and also he is in charge of the defence. if he is not in charge of the defence what is his job. He's assistant manager. He does whatever the manager tells him. You're talking bull and making assumptions and you have no idea whether or not he's any good.Nibor
Guest The Traveller
i am not talking bull mate. he is first team coach, assistant manager call him what you like, he is there to coach the defenders(how many more times) whether he is any good at it look at the results this season so far. played 16 games including cups, we have let in 32 goals that is 2 per game. if this goes on we are in big trouble. and as for doing what the manager says fair point.we need a coach that helps the defenders if you go on results he is not doing the job he is paid to do. nibor these are facts not little cheap shots(very sad)
Nibor
How do you know he's exclusively in charge of coaching defenders? Because I've never seen or heard anything like that other than people just guessing he is because he was a defender.I agree that the defence is poor but your argument that we should sack Millen because of it is even poorer.Nibor

bh_red
who says Millen is a poor coach and who actually says that he does deal with all the defense coaching?I think the problem is more todo with not having a settled defence due to constant injuries and "incidents" than coaching, prior to the Incident we were looking more solid at the back.besides......everyone knows that millen is actually quite a good coach and is highly rated by alot of peope
Guest The Traveller
how do you know he is a good coach, if you go by results he is not. who at the club has improved since he has been there. gary straight away brought in two defenders from charlton. that says it all. he does coach the defenders, and some have not improved fortune, woodman. bh_red
Since he was there? Where do you start, golbourne, cotterill, skuse for starters, Bradley Orr and Brown have all improved since they were signed by the club.Orr has gone from a below average midfield, to a half decent defender, surely Millen must take some credit.people haven't noticed though that Millen was in charge of all of these younger players such as Skuse, Cotts, Golbourne and Harley when he was in charge of the u17 teams, so they have no doubt improved under him hence they are now first-teamers.Also it's worth noting that he was invited to do the UEFA Pro licence which is a very high profile coach badge and he must have some good coach skills for him to be eligable to do that.Unfortunatly he was tarnished while working with Tinnion and people won't forget that. When Tins the first thing Millen atttempted to do was to sort out the defence and get us to tighten up and to be fair the goals for a while.Johnson will decide on the role, but looking at things it look like Millen will be staying as No2, as he is someone he knows well and trusts. Nibor
In theory it would kind of make sense if Millen was in charge of defenders and Walsh was in charge of attackers, given that that was their playing positions and all that. Not necessarily. It would equally make sense to have Walsh coaching defenders because he'd know exactly what a forward player hates playing against. At the end of the day it's an assumption not a fact like The Traveller presents it as.fair point. but if the coach is poor it does not matter how good or bad the player is.I am a crap coach and I'm certain I could coach Chelsea to beat us. You're dumping blame on the assistant manager when you have no clue whether it's actually his responsibility and you haven't even seen a training session.how do you know he is a good coach, if you go by results he is not. who at the club has improved since he has been there. gary straight away brought in two defenders from charlton. that says it all. he does coach the defenders, and some have not improved fortune, woodman. Some players don't improve irrespective of coaching, coaching cannot turn a poor player who doesn't learn into a good one. You are literally just making things up. Johnson bringing in two defenders says that he thought the players we had weren't good enough, if he'd sacked Millen and replaced him that would have indicated he didn't think the coaches were good enough.Nibor
bh_red
plus the fact that the main reason those 2 defenders were brought in was to cover injury and suspension.Orr, Partridge, Heywood, Golbourne and Carey.......have all been suspended or injured since GJ was at the club, so he has had to bring in players.Fortune, Keogh, Woodman, J Smith......therefore the only defenders left.....I wouldn't want to play that 4 in defence! would you?
