robins72
So we are lacking PASSION PACE AND PROFESSIONALISM as quoted by Johnson on the official site. This surely is the basics of being a football player. They get paid thousands and thousands for doing a professional job for 90 minutes every week infront of their fans. We definately need an injection of pace in the side but as we cant do much until January have to cope with what we have. Passion should come easy although I head that Murray scored a great goal and kissed his shirt so guess hes proub to play for his shirt. Some of our players however I'm not sure about. The team really need to start believing in themselves that they are good enough for promotion. On their day city are capable of beating any club in this division. We just need to turn the corner how long that will take I don't know! Your thoughts..........
RedM
Can't argue with any of it, at least he is prepared to address the issues rather than the ignore or fingers crossed approach.Marcus is out for Chesterfield and Carey replaced as he got a knock (I hoped it was tactical). Only got a few days to put it right. In effect his hands are tied until january.

robins72
Confidence is the main issue here. THe main problem is that we have some young players out there Sankofa BRown Skuse Cotterill were all playing acadamy games last season. This season they are playing first team football and its a BIG step. The more experienced players need to help them lift their heads when things arent going well. THey need to rely on their mentors to get them through the rough times. THis may be a transitional season for us although I still think were capable of getting a play off place this season. RedM
Oddly enough it's the more experienced players that tend to go missing when the going gets tough, many of the youngsters should be given credit for trying to do their job and the jobs of their missig team mates. robins72
Perhaps they should start appreciating the fans more who pay their wages. THey really need to pull their socks up or there will be more players leaving the gate come January. I cant see Johnson having too many journeymen at the club who don't want to play for the shirt. I think that Oldham had mostly journeymen in there team.In fact I think that if you get the right players they may be better for the team than home grown players. Guest DrFaustus
God help me, but I'm sticking up for you lot again...Gary Johnson: 5 games in charge, 3 wins 2 defeats, 9 points. extrapolate that over a season and you are near the play offs or up automatically. You won't get many nil-nils with that fella, face it. If you have the wrong players, he'll ship them out. You need patience (Christ how many times have fans of both Bristol clubs been told that?). Johnson will have your mob or at least, a mob he brings together, playing as a unit by January. You don't go up this year, you'll be champions next. The latest 'guaranteed sure thing' is Keith Curle. Good man Keith, good manager. Let Geoffrey Bubbles loose on him, lord only knows.
