Dolman Block B
for future games after "LISTENING TO VIEWS FROM THEIR SUPPORTERS".From today, the xxxx stand which normally houses 747 away fans and 261 home fans will change to 750 home fans and 265 away fans. It was a requested by groups of rovers fans and now the board have agreed to it. Well what about our board and our beloved EAST END?

Guest Ronmeister
I think the board are worried that we will kill the away fans when we watch them standing persistantly (i.e all game long)
Taz
Wake up to the fact that the East End will not be reopened on a permanent basis. The last time it was open it was hardly full, and the costs to open the stand were not, and possibly would not be met again. You can create just as much noise from the rest of the ground, the only thing that is needed is noise!!!! bad_shrek
what is the obsession with the east end? why would all the fans in one area moving to another area make a difference?when ive watched you lot from there i thought it was a poor view as well, but then its a poor view from anywhere at the moment i'd guess

Cost? The clubs claims are hardly open to question are they? What are the real costs and could they be recouped by charging the same amount as the Willliams/Dolman? The stand attracts support city fans know this people are staying away because of decisions made by BCFC not just the standard of the football. Football is about belonging, excitement, singing and out lot upstairs have really lost their way.

Bow_Legged_Chicken
Wake up to the fact that the East End will not be reopened on a permanent basis. The last time it was open it was hardly full, and the costs to open the stand were not, and possibly would not be met again. You can create just as much noise from the rest of the ground, the only thing that is needed is noise!!!!No we cannot 10 fans in the east End is potentially the equivelent to 100 fans in another area of the ground. The low roof echo's the sound and makes it a gell of a lot louder. If the City players were more like us never giving up on something we want and less like you losing hope at the first hurdle maybe we will not be where we are today. The costs of opening teh East End are grossly overexaggerated by the club, I am not convinced that for games such as Bristol City V Colchester police prescence would be needed.A few extra stewards, 3 extra Kiosk workers (extra revenue from selling food will make this up) and maybe a few extra hours on the cleaners wages and thats the only additional costs that are to be incurred. Plus with the better atmosphere and the fun relaxed "old time" feeling you get in there it will mroe than likely attract more fans.Think the ones who are moaning about swearing will not have to hear any swearing because those of us that swear will be in the East End. Those of us who swear and are fed up of letter being handed out to us and people moaning about swearing will have our East End back. We are all happy. The vast majority of people who like an atmopshere will be given the best that Ashton gate can and will ever be able to offer, the players will be given that extra boost as will the manager. You could argue that by giving everyone their "own" areas everyone can watch football how they like, this would more than likely result in a rise of attendences and thus clearing the money for additional cleaning and stewarding costs.what is the obsession with the east end? why would all the fans in one area moving to another area make a difference?when ive watched you lot from there i thought it was a poor view as well, but then its a poor view from anywhere at the moment i'd guess Please read above.A lot of us a willing to sacrifice the view to have that old time feeling of football back. Where you all sing, shout, swear and let out your frustrations when you feel like it. Without anyone frowning upon you.

The Man In Black
I reckon that if they opened the WHOLE stand and offered a simple system of transferring tickets (for ST holders) it would be successful.Fans have stayed away in the past because of the difficulty of transferring tickets and the youth muppets who try to climb the fence and taunt the away fans. Take away both those problems and I think it would be better for all.Aaaaand if they really are serious about building this new stand they have to move the away fans at some point. Guest The Codfather 0312
what is the obsession with the east end? why would all the fans in one area moving to another area make a difference?when ive watched you lot from there i thought it was a poor view as well, but then its a poor view from anywhere at the moment i'd guess At the moment all the people that are singers sit in different patrts of the griound this meaning it is hard for the atmosphere to spread. The east end would be a stand where all the singers would come together and all sing this creating a briliant atmosphere. We would be away from all the season ticket holders that prefere to sit in a morg and coplain about every thing that you do.Be it standing, Swearing and smoking.
