Hardly fickle !!!Fickle wasnt implied in that sense and you know it.I accept your opinion as passionate but its sadly one that would simply put our club in more serious trouble, don't you agree? Unless there is someone ready to come in and take the bull by its horns and give it a good thrashing i can only see losing half the board or probably Steve L from the tone of your post as sending City into further trouble. Guest Parksey
It 's a sensible and obvious point to make .One man has to be held to account for the debacle of the last 18 months . He has made 3 big decisions -and all have been wrong ( 1 sacking and two appointments). He has deluded himself about his knowledge of football . He put his ......on the block over Tinnion and then scrambled for cover ... where is he now. We are back to year zero ( 1982) but with bigger debts. Our only salvation might be relegation and a new owner after a fire sale of assets .Our attendances could be c6,000 next year . The club is being run by a someone who is empty of ideas , we are running on empty and suffering a slow torture .Man with a vision needed . Cash would be a bonus. redmeanie
what a joke.tinnion was a mistake but they're all tough decisions.made at the time for (in SL's opinion) the benefit of the club.As for Johnson, the man hasn't had a fair crack at it yet. It'll take time to sort out this mess. And before anyone criticises his loan signings, do you really think club's are keen to let their best players go?And as for having a go about no striker on the bench...that was cotteril. Or was it GJ's fault that brooker got injured?Bridges couldn't even get in the team under tins, and gillespie didn't exactly effect the game in any of his appearances. It's not good at the moment, and is likely to get even worse, but hold on tight and don't get the idea we'd be any better off without Lansdowne or Johnson. Losing either doesn't bear thinking about.
Chappers
We all have opinions, we all have scapegoats, and we are all somewhat disappointed after a poor display. Truth is that we have spent beyond our means for years in an effort to obtain promotion, and having not done so, we are paying the consequences. I don't think there are any easy answers, but, a less confrontational approach from City would help, and personally, I am not a fan of GJ's style of management (And please accept, that is a personal opinion - I prefer the Wilson approach rather than the loud, brash style of GJ). Thank goodness I can now have two Saturdays off!!! And please, remember it is about opinions, we all probably have different views, but ultimately we all support the same Club. I keep re-iterating that it is the responsibility of the board !!All I am saying is GJ is finding it hard and his ability should be questioned. He has brought in his own players and nothing has improved. Why should his permanent signings in January be any different ?? Quality players are hardly going to join a club destined for league 2!!! And with regard to the board, they are ultimately responsible for the managerial changes since the sacking of Danny and should question their own positions for the benefit and well being of the club. They took a cheap option in Brian, lets not fool ourselves on that point !!

They supply the money and the time apart from their day jobs, they are also supporters, if they give in when the going gets tough we will have nothing, not even a club!Once again, you all go on about how Steve Lansdown and his contribution !! Yes. he has spent a few quid..............however..................Lets be honest guys, we are in the small time and a 3rd division football club going no where. I am so passionate about our club, but we are nothing. We are living in one of the top biggest cities in England with a 3rd rate football team. Stop all this Lansdown sympathy.Steve is a business man, has lots of money and makes sure he is personally secure........nothing wrong with that and I do respect the guy. However, Steve is not big enough or brave enough to spend a significant amount of money to make our club successful. No problems with that either......................however he would try and stop a takeover.......................like all chairmans. You are all very supportive of Steve, but even Scott Davidson (who was more respected than steve) have no answer or the bulls to make BCFC a success. It makes me sad, but we are here because.........................our directors are happy sit in the west country, have a high profile position and take the p*ss out of the fans !! Its not cheap is it to watch 3 rate football at the gate !!!Stop living in your city little world..........................you say without lansdown their would no Bristol City........................get a grip !! remember 1982 ?? No chairman is bigger than the club. Bad decisions have been made and he must look at his small boardroom (ie one other person) and question his position !! Guest Parksey
This is a sensible discussion about the continual and ciontinuing mis management of and lack of strategic direction at the club. One man has is resposible for this. This is without doubt. Again , our annual losses reflect this. Very few clubs in our division could sustain such losses as us for 1 year -almost all of them are achieving more than us . This is not a triumph but a failing .Are we growing our own talent or buying it in? are we rebuilding the ground or the team ? Being a fan is not enough . We need leadership and vision , cash would help. More evidence - the man running the club has to ask a newly appoited manager ror a top to bottom review . Does this suggest he understands the club and where is the report?
