Guest citytop
I have an argument with all forum posters who last August thought we were the best thing since sliced bread and the signings of Bridges and Stewart made us certs for the play offs and possibly automatic promotion. The team then, according to most of you was at least OK and we were in for a good season. What has happened was we had a poor start ( as did Notts Forest, did they sack their manager?) Whilst I don't think BT was ready for this job, I think what has happened since is the biggest disgrace since I started watching back in the days of 64. (and we have been through some tough times)If anyone thinks this joke of a manager will do anything to lift this club out of the crisis we find ourselves in is sadly mistaken. He has now signed 4 players on loan, none of which are better than we have, replaced the best goalkeeper in this division with a 30 year old Brazilan nobody hasheard of, and now even better is going to sign a striker (Bas Savage, who?????) who apparently after 3 years at Reading and countless loan offerings has yet to score 10 league goals. (I might even be generous here)This guy thinks that by slagging off all of our players is going to motivate them into playing better. Yes we have had this drinking culture at AG and the three players being arrested., but to hear the rumours of players drinking etc, etc, etc. (I have yet to see MS at the Essex)This guy is Conference standard at best, this is proved by the players he is bringing in and the standard of football we are playing and lets be fair who in their right mind would let 7 players go out on loan 6 weeks before the transfer window and 1 week before the loan deadline when we can only sign another couple of players.I suggest he resigns immediately, and appoint the bloke who should have got the job in the first place Martin Allen

I disagree with what you have to say about Gary and in regards Tinnion (much as I liked the guy) I can't see how you can call his leaving "the biggest disgrace".Fair point about Stewart and Bridges: our optimism was obviously misplaced. There was no way we were really good enough for promotion - we deluded ourselves into believing we were better than we were. However, how many then, even the most negative of us, could have predicted this shambolic start to the season? I'm sure not even a Rovers fan would have imagined it!You've also got a fair point about the goalkeeping issue. Although wouldn't call him best in this division! Finally, Bas Savage is OK. He's one of the hardest working players around. I've seen him play a few times at Bury and his efforts were appreciated by fans. Admittedly he's not a proven goalscorer but his work-rate is excellent. I suppose part of his problem is that he hasn't had a regular run in any team, which is bound to affect his chances of scoring a lot of goals. But I'd rather have him here than Agogo. fgrsimon
Bas Savage played a couple of games for Forest Green pre-season, then was linked with Milwall but ended up at Hemel Hemsptead! He looked ok for Forest Green but some Oxford Utd (I think) supporters thought he was the worst player ever to play for them! It's debatable whether FGR would have offered him a contract anyway. I don't think he would be the answer to City's woes. Why on earth would Martin allen want to leave Brentford to come to a team firmly in the relegation zone? I know he is mad but..............
