It should apply for away fans as well as clubs are not allowed to charge away fans more. I read that a few weeks ago somewhere. So there chairman will have to come out and say something or he may get into trouble with the football league. Also everyone gets a free program(whilst stocks last)

Does this apply to us away fans though is what I'm trying to ask????

To be honest, I don't know & I doubt it. According to our main site, the away prices are £18 for seated & £15 for terraced. I still think that you should sent the link to Mr. Lansdown, you never know....

Just rang Doncaster Rovers.

The ticket deal does not apply to away fans.

As a student, free seating in their end does look tempting!

The thing is due to football league rules the CAN NOT charge away fans more than they charge home fans. So they will have to do something about this, Like when City have a quid a kid game they also have to charge the same in the away end.

That used to be the case but the rules were adjusted in the summer. Clubs are now allowed to offer reduced prices to "home fans only" up to four times in any one season.

Don't know why they changed it, as its another kick in the teeth for away fans, but thats modern football for you.

I remember this season at I think Chesterfield where it twas a kid a quid and alot of people wanted to know if it twas the same for away fans and the clubs said that the home team can't charge away fans more.

Bugger that then. No way am i going all the way to donny, paying £18 to stand in the freezing cold.

When you take into consideration petrol, beer (Say no to drink driving!), food, programme, your looking at upwards of 50 squid.

Mind you, i said the same about forest, swansea, swindon, brentford, barnet and oldham!

Any ideas how much it is to get up on the train??

From football league website:

"In a move aimed at ensuring visiting supporters do not pay more than home supporters for equivalent accommodation, The League has also strengthened its ticketing regulations".

"Clubs will now have to submit a pricing plan to The League showing ticket prices for all areas of their ground. The League will ensure this plan does not allow the club to charge visiting supporters higher prices for accommodation in comparable zones to the home supporters. If visiting supporters have use of the only standing area in the ground they should be charged 10% less than the cheapest covered seat, but visiting supporters may be charged more if they occupy accommodation that is of a higher standard than home supporters, provided the added charge is no more than 10%".

As I said, I'm only going by where I originally read about the "new rules". Maybe it's worth emailing Donny to see what they are planning to do?

Seems you are right as they just emailed me back saying that it is one of there four games. They also said that there is a motion going on as the clubs want this changed as it's not right.

So they have finnaly gave into pressure and reduced prices for away fans to in the away terrace.

Well done to them. They didn't have to reduce prices for us so fair play to them for doing so.

The away end you had last year ie the Rosso End behind the goals, is a home end for this game. This means you get about 150 (can't recall exactly) Mainstand seats and a few hundred places for the away Mainstand Terrace area ie the right hand side of the pic in the section on your site about the tickets. Plus a free programme if you take your snow chains and get there early!

Hopefully the ground will be near full, in which case parking is going to be that bit more tricky than normal, so do leave enough time.

So, I'm going to Doncaster Rovers v Bristol City FC on Saturday to attend a match where the host club has a 'proper' Chairman/ board of directors that obviously truely love their club and football supporters in general. That same Doncaster Chairman even registered as a player so as to appear as a substitute for Doncaster when they were 4-0 up against Hereford - the bloke was in his 50's at the time from what I've heard !!!!!! That's a top class football supporter and Chairman - poles apart from the muppet leadership at BCFC at the moment. :(

i would choose him over our current board any day of the week, You name it and il choose it.

Didn't City have a promotion for the Chesterfield game? As a season ticket holder I was sent two tickets entitling the holder to admission for £8. That is £2 cheaper than Doncaster are charging for a seat.

I gave my tickets away and as far as I am aware they were used.

As I understand it the reason that prices are reduced on Saturday is only because the Chairman is reacting to fans who were unhappy with him following comments he made about stay away fans last Saturday.
