I wonder if you took out the major shareholders could the board win a confidence vote from other sharholders.

As the club seems to be in free fall our only answer is sign yongsters on loan and poor quailty freebees. No one seems to be able to stop the decline even a manager with a lot of experance looks very worried.

The board give out mixed messages telling tinnion could could not buy players after they sold Lita so left him looking at free transfers. Then after sacking him they seems to give Johnson the money in january to buy players.

No one at the club seems to grasp the fact the Academy is a waste of money and should be down graded to a Centre of Excellance to save the club money and still keep a youth set up.

I when down Saturday and that is the worst City team I have ever seen including the team when we came out of bankruptse 1982

We must stop the rot or the club will fold if we keep spending money like its going out of fashion.

Simple question is, "would anyone else want the job?"

Running this football club or most others really, is a thankless task where you're damned if you do and damned if you don't

All of the shareholders would sell tomorrow for the right amount of money, but it's not and never has been offered.

Will it ever be?

Rumours abound about a Davison return backed by everyone from Richard Branson to Donald Trump.........or was that, Duck

Will it ever happen?

Who knows.

But if the past is anything to go by, probably not.

You are right in one respected he has the money be as long as we are in so much debt which is a lot to do with the way the board has run the club alot of buyer or people with money will not invest or take over the club

Rubbish, the club will always survive. It is his fault we're in this mess

no ignore the same tired argument repeated again and again in different format.

ok to a point I agree, however if you see a post is by a certain poster, just don't read it. I find this primary school type "i'm going to ignore you" stuff irritating beyond Ashtonyates Anti-Academy rants

Whilst I don't mean this to sound like a dig at Steve, the one point is only Steve would know if there was any "real" interest in him being replaced.

Only people looking for a bit of PR go to the press first.

What goes on behind the scenes nobody really knows.

The one thing to remember the club survived before him and will no doubt survive if he should ever be moved on... lets no be blinkered into thinking he is the be all and end all to the club

I appreciate that we all have different opinions on most things conneted to City, but tin this instance i really struggle to see what Lansdown has done wrong. How would we be better off without him? What's he done that's bad? Their are a few PR issues, but to be honest their probably Sexstone's fault, and aside from that all the board have done is near enough continually stump up cash to club going.

Cue many reasons why i'm wrong.....

agree but it was ashtonyates anti academy rant

Have to question whether the club would survive without Lansdown. As others have said I don't see a queue of people eager to invest(make a small fortune out of a larger one) do you?

I don't want to rant about the academy but it has a lot to do with where we are to day as some of our debt can be traced back to the academy but a lot of academy fans cannot seem to take that in I have asked S L for up todate cost of running it we will see what he comes back with.

Heres 3 Did not buy a foward 2 year ago because we never had any money then got Scott murray back

after he could not cope with a higher league that we were trying to get promoted to, let Butler go with out

replaceing him, cocking up Rosienion signing one more paying 325k for a raw scott named Miller now you

are going to say you can blame him for that but he is say so running the club hands on or appointing people

that are

So Bristol City is now Steve Lansdown? When we have had chairman leave in the past there is always someone else to take over, If there isn't this time then it would be down to us supporters to save the club.

The day that someone says a football club will go bust without one person, Then it is a very sad day in football.

If we were to sell these acadamy players when lucritive offers come in for them then it would be a much more profitable option to keep the academy. We have had a lot of big money offers for our Youngsters that we have turned down.

Ultimately they have taken risks that have got us into a lot of debt and those risks havent payed off. And in my view it comes down to bad management, and the fact that we have massive debts and impending relegation would point towards that by the board. It could be a different story with somebody else at the helm, the club could be more efficiently run, all this board has done is finance transfers and an academy by putting us into debt and relegation which any monkey could do.

how many post can be posted about one boring subject!

Academy this academy that.............move on!!!!! the academy isn't at fault for everything that is wrong with the club

Why don't you go to the AGM tonight and bring up the point of the academy and stop everyone else listening to your constant pointless moaning about the same subject!

wonder if the moderators could just merge this with all the other posts about the Academy from him!!!!.......now where is that report button..........

I'm not old enough to remember it, but didn't the club come extremely close to going bankrupt back in the 80s? How can you say the club will always survive?

Read the report of the AGM, we are no longer in major finacial trouble, yes we do have debts outstanding, but they are no longer to SL, so therefore the club is not as reliant on him.

He is sorting the club out finacially before it gets too bad.

Also Academy cost 200k to run! looks like your theroys and views have been thrown out the window.

Simple question is, "would anyone else want the job?"

Very Unlikely!!

A so called Sleeping Giant of a club, the Cinderella of the West Country!!.

Currently in Free Fall, heading for the Drop!!.

You would be lucky if the current Board were to dip their hands in their pockets at this current moment in time, let alone bring in some new Multi-Millionaire Chairman who was going to invest heavily to stave off the threat of relegation.
