Robbored
With the exception of the injured Wilkshire todays 11 were the same bunch that were so unfortunate to lose last Tuesday.I can't recall the last time we saw 10 of the 11 players start the next game. Its good that Johnson rewards the players with a strating place next game after a good performance.Could it be that Johnson has found his best 11 at long last. The other good thing was that only one of todays starters is a loan player - Noble, and its likely he'll sign in January.I was also pleased that Johnson didn't mess around with substitutions. Lordofthebling
I wasnt there, but from the sounds of it Russell and Stewart played well.I hope more than anything that this team is now an organised unit.Onwards and upwards...

dagest
It could be, but I'd never have guessed Orr and Carey would have formed part of that XI. Just goes to show I suppose.

Lordofthebling
This is a bit of a strange one, Carey's always been seen as a right back, yet his most successfull season was at centre-half.And for a so called midfielder, Orr seems much more at home at right-back Hopefully this squad of players can start fulfilling their potential, and get a bit of momentum going into January, which will make it easier for the new signings to settle! havanatopia
Hopefully... We have quite a good run of games, with the likes of Port Vale, Rotherham and Yeovil to play, so fingers crossed that we have turned the corner and we can get some much needed points on the board. He would be foolish to change anything but hopefully he has a bit more sense than to listen to supporters who, after winning our first game in 10 and keeping a clean sheet, would drop BOTH full backs next week. Dogwood wrote a post about the mentality of some City supporters earlier - he was dead right.
Frank Reynolds
i still think skuse & brown should playMidfield ------- Wilkshire ---- brown -------- skuse --------- murray/cottsWhy?I wouldn't put Skuse back in the team. I was confident that our performances would pick up without him.Not because he is a bad player, but because I don't think he is suited to a relegation dogfight. Guest I bleed red 'n' white
the whole team was superb and we have competition but not too much russell has gone from a 0/10 to a 10/10 in just four days in my view! Why?I wouldn't put Skuse back in the team. I was confident that our performances would pick up without him.Not because he is a bad player, but because I don't think he is suited to a relegation dogfight.i simply think we just have much better centre midfielders than him wilkshirenoble russellbrownand are all top quality players he should be loaned out in my opinion

Players are no longer looking over their shoulder (till January at least) .

Just asking.Bring on the Opprobrium.....

Just asking. Your're not labouring the point at all. Its perfectly reasonable to ask exacly what Johnson's loan signings actually achieved other than to contribute to worst run of defeats in the clubs history. At least the players looked as if they were playing for him in the last two games. next_year_I_hope
could stevie philips not be in johnson's plans? bit like Simonsen at Everton; Moysie came in and dropped him; now playing really well for the stoke. i see phillips moving on especially if bring in shaaban.we should get good money for him as well.shaaban signed for some nordick team in the week just gone
RedUn
I was also pleased that Johnson didn't mess around with substitutions.Nobody got injured so there were no forced substitutions and everybody did their jobs for 90 minutes so there was no need to shake things up. We looked fitter and more up for it than for many a moon; all credit to Gary Johnson for sticking to his guns and to the players for coming up to the mark that he set for them; carry on with the performance levels we've seen this week and we'll pull clear soon enough. Other than Sankofa (who was too much of a footballing defender for a dogfight) the loan players have been carp, Noble excluded as that appears long term.Let's see what quality arrives in January.
