Guest Ronmeister
Is it me or are we behind the times; everyone else seems to be having a minutes applause but we're still stuck with the silence (well apart from the guy somewhere inside the Atyeo who had a long conversation about how we were going to win, much to the annoyance and confusion of those sitting in it )
Dollymarie
Yeah how rude was that bloke.....twerp!!! (some people need to learn respect)And the reason they did the applause for George Best was to celebrate his football career, it wont be happening for everything now. Tinmansleftboot
Ok fair enough but to be honest I think the minute of applause is much better Never been a great fan of the minutes silence. Should only really be done for a really special event. Not to mark the death of some bod in the FA.It's getting crazy now. When will it stop. I think we should have a minutes silence before every game as a mark of respect to the fans that attended City's latest defeat!! Although, in saying that, things are looking a wee bit better this morning!
Guest revkev
Ok fair enough but to be honest I think the minute of applause is much better I agree, it's always a bit hit and miss as to whether or not the silence is observed with respect. When Harry Dolman died the next opponents were Derby County, whose fans were disgraceful in chanting through the "silence". Fortunately they were stuffed by City on the pitch, including a rocket of a goal from Donnie Gillies. Mark the life of a sporting person or at least someone with connections to the club with applause, and leave the silence for Remembrance Sunday. solo1bc
Ok fair enough but to be honest I think the minute of applause is much better I disagree to be honest, I think a minutes silence is a greater sign of respect when honoured by thousands of people. It's supposed to be a time to reflect on the person who has passed away and their family.Just my opinion but I think standing in a minutes silence (especially if the person departed really meant something to you) is a very moving thing. Johnny Casio
How about a minutes silence for reflection and a further minute to celebrate, really get the crowd going and would do wonders playing at home....think of it as the Hacka
Matty H
There will be a minutes silence before every football game at the rate it's going. Doesn't seem like anyone remotely connected to football can die nowadays without being honoured with a silence

There are people out there that have done tons more than this 'bod'. To be totally honest, I'd see all silences done away with. I remember when a silence was a mark of respect. Now it's just a fashion. Where will it all end.......
havanatopia
I think a minutes applause a complete cop out. OK for besty. but if it came in full time then all it does is capitulate to the ######s to do not stay silent and that in itself smacks of disrespect.the longest session of silence must have been tins after the swans shocker. awghhhhhh, that was cruelllll.
