Following the departure of Leroy Rosenior by "mutual concent" this week, a number of names have been thrown into the hat including.....

John Hollins

Kevin Hodges

Ian Atkins (oh dear!)

and.... Brian Tinnion

I know he was unlucky at City in his time as the gaffer, but I would like to see him back on his feet and back in management, maybe this would be a good place to start?

Thought he would have a chance and if he gets it then good luck to him

this is the sort of club tinnion should of managed before taking the helm at ashton gate, either that or youth teah coach at city when he got the managers job here. this could be a good move for us as he might take some of our wasters with him. they could do a job in that league.

So you don't think he's learnt anything from his time as the boss here, I bet he would do things totally different at Torquay then he did when he first came here, hes learnt loads, sadly he learnt things too late here and the players already had no respect for him, maybe, just maybe he's do a decent job now he's got some experience and won't have to turn from mate into gaffer.

You post alot of ###### mate!

I was thinking he was going to get a decent appraisle when I saw the title thread. He did love this Club, (WTFiGO!?! reaches for his tissues) but as knowone else has then I'll take responsibility.

I think it is an absolute travesty he doesn't still have some role with us. He was truly shafted being given that job (the 3rd most important in the country) on his own with such limited experiance. I know he accepted it and we can all manage Hindsight United and all that, but he was a star for me for 10 years and I think that he deserves a little more respect for his overall services to BCFC.

Tinman deserves better from us, I was at Liverpool!

Torquay is too good for him - I was going to suggest the Downs League but that would be insulting them - how about the Nailsea Farmers?

Tinnion is/was over-rated as a player. He was good at League 1 standard and that was it. He was a great passer and had a good attitude, but the bloke couldn't tackle, head and rarely scored. He was crap as a manager. As far as I'm concerned there's little room for sentiment in football and Tinman is best off out of this club because he isn't good enough. I'd be very surprised if Torquay can't do any better than him.

Good luck to him if he doe's get the nod for the job, I for one wish him all the best. He was one of the best players I ever saw play down at Ashton Gate ok so not the best manager but thats in the past now, sure there are alot of thing's he has learnt. Good luck Tinman all the best. :city:

Which Brian Tinnion did you watch? To correct you, he was a decent player at Championship level, and if he had been a strong tackler and a great header, he would have been in the Premiership! With one pass he could unlock a defence, what would we give for a player with that ability now? The guy was a class act at the level in which he played, and I thought his goalscoring record was not that bad for a midfielder.

As for 'England's' pathetic comment, in his first season in charge, he lost a number of key players, but still only just missed out on the Play Offs. He was just the wrong man at the wrong time for City. Give him a break!

I agree but you also must mention a right foot that was used for more than just to stand on.

I agree with you, Tinman will always be a legend and what ever he does next he deserves a chance

If there's a league job he'll succeed in it's that one.

No money to spend, lots of effort and hard work needed.

Good luck to him, pity he didn't do a job like that first before trying his hand here.

I think it was about £50,000 to Boston for David Noble mate

Although I would like toadd I agree with your post just a bit of a Noble fan

I obviously agree with PaulC, Gaz897 is a fair enough footballing comment.

As a kid, the few games I went to that I first began actually appreciating Football, Tinnion along with Martin Scott stood out as the two class players. I know I watched Jacki too, but can't actually remember it.

Didn't go to Anfield :( but what does stick in the mind of Tinman was a lob at AG mid nineties (can't remember details but was up what is now the Atyeo end, and away at Stoke, 2000 maybe? Went ######* mental!

It might actually force him to coach his existing players rather than going public about the need to buy players for certain positions as soon as a problem presents itself...

I seem to recall his replacement doing the same here !

With a comment like that towards someone that gave his all to our club for 11 years, you are the insult.

Just in case there's a need for a virtual lynch mob, hear hear.

Though I think we're getting carried away with a theoretical appointmet, living down the road from Plainmoor, I often find myself watching them and would be proud to go along and give Tins my support from their gargantuan home end.

you are without doubt the stupidist ###### on this forum...................

Did you ever actually watch any of the games when he PLAYED for us

and presumably you have no problem with Brooker, or had any with Lita's goals (or the £1mil), (down to Tinnion)

He tried his best for the club, wasn't good enough - paid the price,

and we've moved on

why can't you ?

Tinns is a legend but wasnt ready for management that was all,

Although I admire his loyalty it amazes me that people rant on about how he gave the club eleven years.

He was paid believe it or not probably more than any of us on here could dream about earning.

He didn't do it for the love of it !!

on a serious note, Atkins would probably do a good job there, he's good at pulling out of the drop zone, but he cant seem to progress from there, for a ashort term appointment, he would be the man!
