And their winner was never a free kick.
Guest The Codfather 0312 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 officially Damien Spencer, but really Paul Holland (it bounced off Spencer's knee or something). And their winner was never a free kick. Yea that is correct.
rednotblue Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Yea that is correct. And wasn't the referee ticking one of our guys off as Stoke took the free kick?
Guest Cider_Army Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Basically the free kick was given and Louis Carey ran off to yell at the ref instead of standing on the ball so the defence could be sorted out, everyone at the far end could see what was happeneing, Kavanagh across the box Peter Thorne (or somthing) stabs in at the far post.
Guest lee10 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 the ref robbed us. i also would of gave the goal to paul holland it just deflected of spencer
Guest The Codfather 0312 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 the ref robbed us. i also would of gave the goal to paul holland it just deflected of spencer But it wouldn't of gone in otherwise. It was heading straight for the Goalkeeper untill Spencer got his leg in the way. Also there freekick was a freekick but the Ref was talking to Carey at the same time and was about to issue a yellow card. But there player took the freekick whilst the ref was talking to Carey and also pushed the ball forward 10 yards and took the freekick whilst the ball was still moving at rules state the ball must be still before freekicks are taken.
Jimmy Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 took the freekick whilst the ball was still movingI was sat in virtually the back row at the opposite end of the ground and It was clear from there that the ball was moving.Lousy Stoke, ruined my only ever trip to Wembley!NB. Anybody remember that guilt edge chance Spencer had just after the goal, oh what might have been!
Guest Paul Hudd Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I think it was meant to be that Stoke won that final. I believe one of their legends had just passed away before the game?????Cannot remember who it was though?
Dollymarie Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 And wasn't the referee ticking one of our guys off as Stoke took the free kick? He was indeed, we got robbed that day :@
Thornbury Red Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I think it was meant to be that Stoke won that final. I believe one of their legends had just passed away before the game?????Cannot remember who it was though?Sir Stanley Matthews!
Guest Paul Hudd Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I think I should have remembered that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest The Codfather 0312 Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Can anyone remember that shocking Miss that Aaron Brown had?
WTFiGO!?! Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 A lad called Cuthbert (only attempting humour)I always accredid it to Paul Holland. I'll vouch to what has already been mentioned about that rolling ball.Still hold a fat grudge against Graham Kavanah to this day.Another irk was them not playing Drink up thy Cider in response to their Delilah (whore). Any relation to Irene does anyone know?
