bobby Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 On the basis of Mr Wilson's 3.5 years in charge at BCFC what do you think are his positive and negative points??? I reckon some of the following - Positives: - good reputation with others in the business - good experience in 1st and premiership - built up a good young squad - good team spirit - shows commitment - generally seen as a "good" guy - plays a good passing game (he's also easier on the eye than most footie managers ) Negatives: - some strange team selections and substitutions - not won anything yet (apart from LDV) - doesn't bring on enough academy players? What would you add or disagree with
tompo Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 How many current mangers have won anything at all let alone the LDV?
bucksred Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Negatives- strange substitutions, & sticking with out of form players too long. Positives- Goodfellow, Wilkshire & Miller, and at last the current good run. Come on you Reeeeeds!!!

What would you add or disagree with I think they way to look at it is; How many managers are there to whom you can apply the positives ? How many managers are there to whom you can apply the negatives? I would suggest there are fewer of the former than the latter.
Riaz Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Negatives: - doesn't bring on enough academy players? Craig Woodman, Matt Hill, Danny Coles, Kevin Amankwaah, Aaron Brown.............. More than most other teams..
Robbored Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 No manager (apart from Aresen Wenger.. ) is flawless. But in my view Wilson has so far done a good job this season. His obvious defects are that he is too loyal to out of form players and his "unusual" substitutions. That said City are third in the league and have won the last 8 games. He must be doing something right.
Guest redrobin108 Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Not only have we won our last 8 games, but we have only losted 4 times in the league this season.
bucksred Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Not only have we won our last 8 games, but we have only losted 4 times in the league this season. Yep, and thats one of the negatives being battered by the bottom side!! Positive is no one else has beaten us like that!! Thankfully!!
bobby Posted February 13, 2004 Author Posted February 13, 2004 I agree there are far more positives than negatives. Some of those listed I wouldn't necessarily adhere to myself, just seen them quoted on this forum often enough. I think Danny is doing an ace job and happily accept no managers are flawless (in fact none of us are). just interested to see what others sumamrise as strengths as well as weaknesses.
Claverham_Red Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 just watched BCFC World and it says if city win on saturday it will be danny wilson's 100 win as city's boss. surely that is a good record isn't it? http://www.bcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...~486912,00.html
bobby Posted February 13, 2004 Author Posted February 13, 2004 Yes, let's just hope we make it tomorrow! Then I'll celebrate for 100 wins If not tomorrow then soon, so well done Danny
Guest fidget Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 I've always thought DW has and is going a great job Had to comment here though - Plays a good passing game sticks in the throat a bit On occasion this is true - but we're now a hard team to beat, defensively excellent We're solid and hard to break down What we're not is a great passing side - we have been down the years DW hardly has a Clough or Keegan outlook on the way to play Football But it's going to get us out of this league Can't think of a footballing side in this league - Oldham perhaps on their day Certainly not Plymouth or QPR?
Cooter Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 Danny Wilson + point: Nationwide League Division 2 Champions by the end of this season! Come on you Reds!!!
