Robbored Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 In all fairness 1-0 flattered Swansea today. They were outplayed and out fought by a Ciy 11 that were really up for this game. The City boys harried, closed down and generally dominated a very average looking Swansea side. The Swans resorted to heavy and downwright dirty tactics and 8 booking on thier side was not OTT refereing imo. They all deserved it.That said Orr was lucky to stay on after he nutted the Swansea players whilst they were on the deck. The ref didn't see it and booked Orr but also booked the Swansea player for diving! For once I couldn't name a City MoM. All the lads played really well but Cotterill and Orr stood out for me.Skuse did well after replacing the crocked Noble and Russell seemed to up his game after his mate went off.3-0 would not have flattered City.It was a top performance, probably the best this season.
kiwicolin Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 yes brilliant game and all the players should getman of the match , but brooker was outstanding.also the fans. well done for the noise that theycreated during the game.we plucked the swans feathersand their fans were very quiet.

The Swansea player was play acting
Richy P Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I agree, Our defense was fantastic, but three players which stood out for me was, Brooker, never gave up, fought and battled despite being bashed about by their defence. Murray, fast, positive ran the left back into the ground. For me it was one of the best games Russell has had as well, good in the tackle and excellent distribution. I was worried when Noble came off, but thankfully skuse did well and the midfield held together well.
dagest Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Great stuff indeed. 11 great performances. That was the best I've ever seem from Woodman. And Skuse is going to be a class act in a few years.
cidercity Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Cotts for me was ace. worried them every time he had the ball. That said i think the whole team deserves a big pat on the back great performance.Hope the johnson doughters can start coming around now, best team performance for a long time.

City Exile Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Sounds good!Any update on Noble - hopefully nothing to serious?
Guest Ron Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Any update on Noble - hopefully nothing to serious? He went down and then got treatment from Eason, but stayed on for about 5 minutes and didn't look too bad. I think he should be OK for next Saturday.
taxidriver999 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I have not been an admirer of Bass Savage but today I thought he played his best game yet.He has obviously been coached to a higher standard & his passing was excellent. I thought he was one of the top players today.
Ashcott Boy Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 It looked as if Bradley Orr reacted to a dreadful tackle from behind by one of the Swansea players and they put there heads together and the Swans player went down.

Wait untill you see it on the TV before you comment.Orr definately nutted the guy.
Tunley Legend Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Savage, Skuse, Russell (2nd half), Heywood (2nd half), Cotterill and Carey all put in their best displays of the season. Orr was very good but tried to play over complicated passes now and again. Everybody else played well. I have one message for Basso though - save your camera posing shots for the family holiday, mate - that nearly cost us three deserved points!!!It looked like many players came of age today. And the best thing for me was the refusal to wilt against an over physical side who came up the motorway to kick us off the park. For the first time in a long time we had eleven lads out there prepared to give them more than plenty back.
Guest Ron Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Wait untill you see it on the TV before you comment.Orr definately nutted the guy.Sitting in perfect sight of the incident I'm as sure I will ever be that contact, if any, was minimal, and almost certainly unintentional.

Ron, I saw it live and I've seen on the TV.Orr was definately guilty and very fortunate to stay on.He should have been sent off. Trust me.

atyeoboy17 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Alex Russell for me, played the ball around well, and tackled their midfield all afternoon.
Nibor Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Ron, I saw it live and I've seen on the TV.Orr was definately guilty and very fortunate to stay on.He should have been sent off. Trust me.I think you'll find the Swansea player was booked for a totally disgusting two footed lunge from behind which he should have been sent off for, and would have been had he not pretended to have been shot.Nibor
