Guest HambrookRed Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Do you think this suggests he is likely to be on his way out of Ashton gate in the next few days...I'm 50/50 at the moment..especially after not getting on at all today.Might depend on replacements and if we secure them ?I'd be a little sad but can see the logic too.Good win today !
Guest Ron Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I'd put it down to the level of Bas's performance, they didn't know how to deal with him and his passing was very good, he gave 100% as usual, but for once it showed in his performance.

Totally deserved his 90 minutes and regardless of whether any fan prefers Stewart or not, any fair minded one would have to admit that Savage played very well today.
atyeoboy17 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I heard today that Yate Town were about to bid for Stewart
Guest dolman_bcfc Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Didn't we miss him...........not.He hasn't done much in a City shirt yet to miss. Give him a run of 10 full games then take him out and we will see what we have been missing!

Guest Ron Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Yes 300 offside decisions a game. Oh come on that's a bit harsh, more like 250...
Tunley Legend Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Yes 300 offside decisions a game. Have you been counting?!!
Guest HambrookRed Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Unfortunately, whatever you may think of him, we all would have enjoyed a fairy tale come true if he had slotted 15 goals away so far, sadly it hasn't happenned. Also he doesn't have much time left to prove himself, and as time goes on he will get less and less chances....still, i think its a shame.

Has he like Stewart become bad players overnight?

Has he like Stewart become bad players overnight? Both he and Stewart are very lightweight and don't suit the style of play that we're playing at the moment, although I would have put Stewart in instead of Savage before the game. I wouldn't swap any of our midfielders for Skippy at the moment anyway
Guest mercury Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 It's like Wilkshire, how the hell can he be chosen for Oz if he cant get into this team. Has he like Stewart become bad players overnight?no, but I firmly believe that mr johnson has a problem with players who have played at a higher level, i'm not talking reserve loanees which he tends to like, but players that have actually played at a higher level, stewart, wilkshire, bridges, partridge, all being frozen out, or loaned out.

bucksred Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Gotta say, I thought today would have been his day to shine. We didnt see him. Sad, but there it is. I think he'll be gone soon.
sharp&son Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 stewart :- slag off the manager & don't get a game whiltshire :- wont sign new contract & don't get a gameSTAY ON THE BENCH IF YOUR NOT GOING TO PLAY FOR THE TEAM !!!
Nibor Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 stewart :- slag off the manager & don't get a game whiltshire :- wont sign new contract & don't get a gameSTAY ON THE BENCH IF YOUR NOT GOING TO PLAY FOR THE TEAM !!!Wilkshire hasn't been offered a new deal.Stewart hasn't slagged off the manager.Savage played as well as he can today but again, totally lacked any sort of goal threat. We should have started Stewart, but Johnson clearly is trying to make him want to leave.I doubt he will go though, he wants to end his career here.Nibor
solo1bc Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Why all of the conspiracy theories again?Fact is that we won against a top 3 team today. Without Stewie in the side.Since Bas has been starting we've lost 1 game.I'd prefer that Stewart started as I've said before but couldn't it just be as simple as GJ just prefers to play Bas and a more direct style to get us out of trouble?

Cotterill has played at the highest level there is (International football). Brooker was on Manchester United's books. Basso has played in Brazil. Orr was on Newcastle's books. I think there is a distinction here - it's not about what level they have played at or where they come from, more to do with the attitude they may be displaying in front of Johnson and where they feel they are going with Bristol City. Perhaps Johnson does not like players using him and the club as a "stepping stone" or a "comfortable retirement package".Anyway, excellent result for the twelve players who ran themselves into the ground and took plenty of hard knocks for the benefit of the club and 11,000 odd home supporters yesterday. That is what we should be talking about!

I think Stewart is in the same bracket.
