Guest The Codfather 0312 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 What ever the bloke done wrong I don't care at the moment but I for one would like to dedicate todays win to him. No manager deserves to go out the way he did especially not a great Bristol City legend like him. :Party12:

Chappers Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Here Here - Tins will always be a City Legend.
Dave L Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Great sentiment. And I can tell you that he was absolutely delighted with the result today.

Can we give all this legend business a break please?
Guest mercury Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Don't make me laugh. Today's win shows just how far we have come since Tinnion's mess. Can we give all this legend business a break please?how far we've come!!! don't make me laugh, we're still in relegation trouble!!! one half decent win and all the crap since he left is forgotten, johnson is not the messiah, I haven't forgotten the 9 defeats in a row and hand grenades being chucked all over the place, what is this hold the cheeky cockney geezer has over everyone.
Guest Ron Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 how far we've come!!! don't make me laugh, we're still in relegation trouble!!!So the bulking up of the players, the improved training regime and resulting workrate, and movement outside of the relegation zone was Tinnion's doing over these past few months?

Are you deranged?
Guest The Codfather 0312 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 So the bulking up of the players, the improved training regime and resulting workrate, and movement outside of the relegation zone was Tinnion's doing over these past few months? Tins bought in players like Brooks, Carey, Heywood, Orr, Russell, And gave Cotts his chance. These players now are forming a big part of what we are trying to do.He may not be a legend for his management skills but he is defo a legend in my life for his 10 year playing career.
bucksred Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 No THAT was for BRISTOL CITY FOOTBALL CLUB, who were left in the kack, by a certain Brian Tinnions inept managerial spell here.THATs how you play Swampsea, Mr Tinnion.
Guest mercury Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 So the bulking up of the players, the improved training regime and resulting workrate, and movement outside of the relegation zone was Tinnion's doing over these past few months? 21 games down the line, and we're 2 points out of the relagation zone, yes we have come a long way haven't we. How many games down the line do you stop blaming tinnion for the results? 10 games 20 games? at what point does our league possition become johnsons reaponibility?

These players now are forming a big part of what we are trying to do.Wilson brought in Orr, Carey arrived back at BCFC crying for mummy, not the other way around. He brought these other players in yes, and got us to 23rd (I think that's where it ended) in the league. Great achievement.

Great achievement. Sorry Ron but Orr was Tins 2nd signing.http://www.bcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Squad/ProfilesDetail/0,,10327~29720,00.htmlOk about Carey but still he was a Tins signing.

no1cityfan_tucks Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 don't forget tinman got us so close to the playoffs in first season!
Guest Ron Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 And 'magic' lost us 9 on the bounce with his fart assing about with loanees and hand grenades, and we're a massive 19th in the league now, great achievement. If we go on another of these runs I will be inclined to agree with you, but the way things are looking now, the players are fitter, they're playing harder, and they respect the manager.
bcfc seattle Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Great sentiment. And I can tell you that he was absolutely delighted with the result today. That's great to hear. I suspect that the vast majority of us wish him well and are sad that things didn't work out here. He'll always be a City legend and in my opinion anyone who thinks otherwise is just a hater (though not Hayter, as he'd be more than welcome).
The Fat Controller Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 If we go on another of these runs I will be inclined to agree with you, but the way things are looking now, the players are fitter, they're playing harder, and they respect the manager.I think you hit the nail on the head with that one Ronnie. I don't think Tinnion can be wholly blamed for this mess. Yes, ok, he has to take his responsibility (and has done so), however, i struggle to believe why people cant see the biggest reason for our demise, the players. If you look at the squad that we had at the start of the season, who was predicting relegation battles for us? I don't think anyone was. Tinnion brought in a lot of decent players and was building on a good squad. Take Mr Murray for example, funny how he'll play for his job under Johnson, but wouldnt do jack for his best mate. The players had simply not interest in playing for BT, and they have to shoulder their share of the blame.Johnson also has to hold his hands up, after all, we never lost 7 consecutive league games before. Give Tinman a break.
Guest Ron Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Carey was a Tinnion signing Ron mate.More of a Carey signing than a Tinman signing.@ Browner - Surely if Johnson can get the players fitter and playing better then that says alot about his professional style of management, but even more about Tinnion's?
The Fat Controller Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 More of a Carey signing than a Tinman signing.@ Browner - Surely if Johnson can get the players fitter and playing better then that says alot about his professional style of management, but even more about Tinnion's?Oh, absolutely, my post was more of a general response on the fact that a large number of people on this forum are saying that this disaster season is all Tinnions fault. Each responsible party has to take their share of the blame.
Guest Hodges17 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Here it is simply in my viewTinnion the player - Legend for youTinnion the manager - Legend for us.But why forget how good he was in the red shirt because he was offered a job that put him so far out of his depth, took unfair advantage of his love of the club and was only offered to save poor old Steve lansdown a few bob?

Guest Ron Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Superb post, can't believe a Gashead has worte it!Speak more sense than Ron.So you don't think that after the 5-0 at Luton, the 3-2 against Chesterfield, and even the 2-0 at Bournemouth that he should have stepped down. Why you think he is oblivious to his own actions and that there is no problem with him doing that amazes me.
Guest The Codfather 0312 Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 At the end of the day it's night and at the end of the night it's day, But Tins was offered a job that any of us would of accepted just like he did. Some players didnt like the fact that one of them was know telling them what to do, Some were great friends with him, I have had friends that have been my boss in the past and I just felt I could do what I liked when I liked, And often was lazy and turned up late as they were my friends, I guess the same applied for some of the players.Tins wasn't the right man for the job, I know that you know that and he knows that, But in my eyes he will always be a legend for his playing career here. He has one of the best Left foots that I have ever seen and he set up alot of Murrays goals.I don't blame Tins for what happened more Lansdown for appointing him to save money and then lansdown again for failing to get some experience to work with him. Look how well LL and PT are doing at Sagland.
WTFiGO!?! Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 At the end of the day it's night and at the end of the night it's day, Like it.Bottom line for me is 'Tinman is a ****head....!'Any friend of Bristol City's is a friend of mine.

REDOXO Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Tins bought in players like Brooks, Carey, Heywood, Orr, Russell, And gave Cotts his chance. These players now are forming a big part of what we are trying to do.And this is clearly true....Mr Tinnion had a sense of what needed to be done without the know how of how to go about it. The unfortunate thing with our club is its players have had a reputation for off the field problems (ergo drinking fighting womanising etc) since from around the time Terry Cooper left and several managers and the odd director have turned a blind eye to it...Brians approach was to cut out this type of influence from within the club, which he had some success with, however it went far deeper than disruptive influence and actually the culture was so deeply embeded that we were struggling to put out a team that could compete on a Staurday...So it is my oppinion that Brian laid much of the ground work for Gary Johnson....Gary just had to continue were Brian left off in terms of discipline effort and workrate...The staples of Division THREE football...Thus I say Many thanks to Brian and best wishes with your next appointment The BCFC experience will make you stronger...And Good Luck to GJ we are on the right path to actually got out of the quagmire known to most as league one.
