Guest C.T.I.D Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Hayter, gotta be now, today last game in january window
Frank Reynolds Posted January 28, 2006 Author Posted January 28, 2006 Hayter, gotta be now, today last game in january window I agree.I'm not even sure that they did "reject" our last bid in the popular sense of the word.Put simply Boremuff can't afford to turn down a 6 figure bid from any club. I think that maybe our second bid was put on the backburner until Boremuff had scope on all their options for Hayter. If there aren't any, then he'll be ours, and I think it will be the second bid that does it. Phillips is no mug, he knows they need the money and he knows that Seon O'Driscoll will find someone to replace him at a fraction of Hayter's price. I'm pretty sure the Easter deal sprung PP back into life. After that, who knows? Maybe this lad from WBA, Lloyd Dyer?

Probably Lisbie, or another unknown youngster from a London club.Hayter will be here by Tuesday though, watch this space.

Ah, OK, didn't know that about Dyer.Hopefully he gets in a left winger, rather than another striker. Bring Gillespie back and then we'll have enough strikers; with Hayter of course.
cidercity Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I heard a rumour today, i don't know were it came from so i cant name the sauce, but it went along these lines :Brooks to one of the Sheffield clubs 500k.Hayter to us.Personally not happy if true.

Would be disappointed if we couldn't double that figure! Not too many strikers around like him at the moment, and with Fallon moving for 300k, Brooker's price must be nearer the £1mill mark.
jeade Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Could have legs abour Brooks going to a Sheffield club. Work mate was ref at Colchester and spoke to Brooks after the game and they were both moaning about travelling. Brooks said that he was finding it hard as his girlfriend was in Rotherham and he was up and down the motorway. Not saying he is and heaven forbid he doesn't but it does add credibility to rumour

I would want 1mill to even think about letting him go.Brooks for me has come on leaps and bounds this season, every ball played to him sticks, in the air ,to his feet or just blasted he seems to control and hold.He will never be a 30 goal a season man but with someone like lita he could lay on 30.

Cider, I agree about the 30 goals a season thing. But I never thought that about Stewart either to be fair. Brooks would lay on loads for Hayter. If Big Fat Fletch at Boremuff can lay on a few then our Brooks can!

Guest theoldfirstdivision Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 If we get £500K offer for Brooker, we would have little choice but to accept. It's simple economics however hard it is to stomach. e.g you just can't turn down £1 million for Lita. You just can't.Players are replaceable. I reckon that most fans were glad when Fortune didn't go to Preston for £400K. But things change. Of course, it would have been so much better if he'd gone. And what about that £700k a while back from WBA for Aaron Brown! You've got to take the big money in our position. They are always good players out there to find and replace them with.

What are Football players these day's??.Big Girls Blouses, that's what!!.They ought to try WORKING for a living!!Must be loads of people with long distance relationships, doing proper jobs, long hours, working 6 or 7 days a week, and you DON'T hear them complaining!!.
Guest mtraveller Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 if we did sell brooker we need to get a big fee because there is a sell on clause. so port vale will get some of the money.
Reg Hill Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I heard the Brooker rumour yesterday - but with Southampton as the alleged destination. He is contracted until summer '08 so should command a decent fee. Not the best news - but it has a ring of inevitability about it.
Guest Cary Grant supported City Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 "at Least One New Face By Monday"Says GJ in his Bristol City World interview.I can't wait. A new face by Monday, eh??Didn't actually state that it was going to be a football player!!.Could be that they are going to employ a full time cleaner for the toilets!!.
