Guest ashtonyate Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 It seems to me that the club are just using the trust as a cresh for disafected supporters. They will let you play around at the edge but never give any real power away.I cant see the trust getting enough money to take over the club.So Lansdowne will never have any real need to take the trust serious. He may let you run the forum and a few little jobs around the edeges but thats it.
RedTop Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I cant see the trust getting enough money to take over the club.As a matter of interest, what makes you think that would be desirable, if indeed that is what you think?
Frank Reynolds Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 As a matter of interest, what makes you think that would be desirable, if indeed that is what you think? He's a fool. He's come up with that point plenty of times, yet he seems to ignore the fact that those aren't the Trust's aims.

Frank Reynolds Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 That must be the aim of the trust or its not worth have one and, i think i have only posted a couple of post about the trust. No, the Trust wants more input from the fans; as our representatives.Running the forum is a step in the right direction.

Guest twaters Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 The Trusts aim should be to own 49% of the club in my opinion. Give fans a massive say, afterall we are what makes this club. Maybe i have missed it somewhere else but perhaps the trusts aim should be on thier website and probably on the home page. But is suspect the website is taking a long time to biuld, afterall all these people who are putting alot of effort to do the site have other jobs too.May i enquire as to how is the trust going? Ie a list of who does what etc.I only ask because this information would be good to have on the website. As well as a contact page.
Guest Ron Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 That must be the aim of the trust or its not worth have one and, i think i have only posted a couple of post about the trust.I suppose the concept of actually discussing things openly with the Club & the board instead of either having absolute power or throwing insults around is alien to you Twaters - I agree with you, I will get onto that right away - The plan was to get the bare bones down and then build from there but this is pretty important.

Nibor Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 The Trusts aim should be to own 49% of the club in my opinion. Give fans a massive say, afterall we are what makes this club. My understanding is that it's normal for how much of a say a shareholder gets to be dependent upon what's in the company's articles of association, if that's the right document?ie in some cases, holding say 20% might guarantee a place on the board, whilst in others there are no such guarantees.Does anyone know how this works with Bristol City Holdings Ltd? Is there a level of ownership that guarantees a say or is this something that the board decides?I believe Milo mentioned that SteveL has given the trust a figure to aim for? What does reaching this figure get the trust in terms of representation? A seat on the board? Executive or not?Nibor

Lansdown will only agree with the trust if its in his intrest, but if you start to find your feet he will smack your bum and send you home to bed
