how difficult must steve l's job be??? in my opinion, very!!!

he has to try to keep a majority of fans happy by trying to fork out money for players, whilst at the same time keep the club out of more finacial difficulties.

can the man win, nope! he will mess up eaither way, by fans who want him to pay money for players, or not.

Was he forced into taking the post or something?

any chairman of any firm has big decisions to make - surely just a fact of life

Comes with the territory when you are a chairman. I wish I had £40,000,0000 plus in assets to play with. I wouldnt be pivelling around over £75,000 to £100,000 extra for Hayter - a few defeats and we are back in the mire - with Gillespie gone we have Brooker, Savage, Stewart and a virtually untried 19 yr old up front - injuries, suspensions and then trouble beckons.....I know and understand we are making losses, but when Mr Laycock stepped aside it was because he understood that Mr Lansdown would be making significant financial input into City - more than he was already I mean to say....well come on Steve, make a name for yourself tonight....!!!!!

simple decisions made a hash of. Could have been an easier job but the staff he has got isn't good with customer realtions. Doesn't help himself.

I agree. In the last 2 years he has certainly made his job much harder than it needs to be by simply not thinking ahead about how the fans will react to things.

Lansdown may put a lot of time and money into the club but has made some very bad discessions in the past and has paid the price.

and all our rivals at the bottom are winning at present - don't make another bad decision and let Hayter get away !!!!!!!

Would he take the risk that he might be playing in League 2 anyway?

everyone makes mistakes. ok he has made some bad decisions but he like many supporters at the time didnt think they were so bad, its only cus we can look back at them now and say they were bad.

i got a few mates who supported city for years but havent been since we lost to brighton in the play off finals cus they disagreed with getting rid of wilson. i didnt! he was with us for 5 years and couldnt get us promoted, how long can you really give someone? and before anyone starts, i don't want no crap about how he would of got us promoted cus he was doing better and better every season. football don't work like that.

i also knew that tinnion was taking over ages before it happened as i worked with cole skuses brother in law and i was over the moon. no one could tell how it would work out!

as for having £40 million worth of assets, they belong to steve l and not the club, so if you decides that he don't want to pay an extra £75,000, thats his call. not saying i like it but do we want to end up in the same situation as leeds?

rant over....

Withor without the signing of Hayter we owe SL a hell of a lot of respect.

You don't get the king of assests he has by not knowing what he's doing with numbers. The fact of the matter is that BCFC does not make any profit (Currently). Not many businessmen would risk the kind of loss that our board risk year in and year out.

He loves the club more than most do and I for one hope he remains in charge for a very long time.

HE WANTS US TO SUCEED....SUPPORT HIM!!!!

A few typo's in the last message

I meant "You don't get the kind of assests.....etc

I agree also. Doing a great job in my opinion and we're lucky to have him but he's not very good at relaying his vision to the fans. Can't blame him cos of the ridiculous stick he gets from often ridiculous city fans but certainly things on the PR front could be done better.

I own an Advertising & PR firm Steve so any help just give me a shout mate!

The last two seasons have hurt Steve.

Firstly it was Tinnions highly acclaimed benefit year, he could do no wrong, so Steve gave him the judge me by Tinnion scenario. This season it was the return of high profile Marcus Stewart, his own idea.

Now we have him cancelling the SL forum and transferring the fans forum, both of which have become increasingly critical of his stewardship. Nobody doubts his desire for City to succeed, or his vested interest in the club. Things have not worked out for him, and uiltimately for us the fans.

I always hope there is a better season ahead, and that will depend almost entirely on the real ability of GJ. Lets hope his hiring is not a decision that SL regrets, he is due for a change of luck !

Football is a hobby. theres no money in football.I bet lansdowne has never made any money back, I'm sure he just does it because he enjoys owning a football club. He has a very difficult job but he could make it easier.

Its as difficult as he makes it, unfortunately his decision making during his reign has been unbelievably poor for someone who has built up a succesful business.

His appointments, apart from Johnson, have been useless and the financial dealings terrible, altogether not a happy reign.

Take off the red goggles and you will see what a quagmire he has put us in
