Ok here`s what to do, in no particular order just thinking out loud.

- Find a couple of people willing to spend some time setting this up.

- Get hold of a good forum script and `skin it up` to look almost spookily like this one. (there can`t be a copyright on colours and text)

- Sign up to a reputable banner ad network that will display a sensible number of banner ads on the page (this is the only visual difference there would be) The forum would get revenue from each 1000 page views and this would pay for the hosting etc.

-Sign up to a live news data feed and have this running at the top of each page (It`s as small as a line of scrolling text)

This data feed/wire is a constantly updated (every 5 mins) trawl through the Worlds media and would deliver Bristol city related news stories as they are sent to the news wires.

- Put a good swear filter on it, No disrepect to the Subbers they do a great job but i wouldn`t want my 11 yr old reading it over my shoulder.

- Put all the other bells and whistles on such as txt spk filter, I think that is comedy of the highest order filter etc.

- Agree a sign up/kick him off policy to keep rabble out from other clubs.

-Add to this list anything else important

There you would have it, A clone/carbon copy of this forum, self financing, bringing up to the minute City related stories as they break and all you would have to put up with would be a couple of banner ads for British gas/EasyJet etc.

go for it, whatever you find to cater for the people who want it..

sub works because some like that type of pub chat feel to the forum

that is why we ask people to sign up and read the disclaimer warning

on sign up to give you an idea of what may be coming...

cater for peoples tastes, some like here, the sub and rivals but if you got

an idea that might work then go for it.

I wasn`t volunteering to set up a new board, A couple of years ago we had the best period of forum debate on here when it was set up on a temp` url for a few weeks and only 2-300 people could get on.

If memory serves me right this was around the time you started the sub forum.

This board will wither away due to the over modding of the select few that seem to be going power crazy and it will be left to the morons.

We could call ourselves the Supporters' Trust Of Bristol City. And then we could just elect ourselves into positions. We could even hold a meeting at your house one night if people want to challenge it.
