robins72 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has challened Luke Wilkshire to get back his place in the side."While Luke is here he will be treated like any other squad member"."He was injured just as results started picking up, but now he has to perform in training and fight for his place".Johnson confirmed that Blackpool made a cheeky offer for Wilkshire on deadline day but he had not wanted to join the Lancashire club.So thats sums that up then he didnt want the move. Well lets hope that Luke helps us in our slow move up the table.
Lordofthebling Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Didnt want to move to Blackpool when he is a free agent in the summer?I wouldnt move either...
Guest Dan C Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 For Luke's sake he really has to work hard now to get back in the squad and mostly more important for him, He has to be playing week in week out to get in the Aus World Cup squad.
Dinky Gems Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I do think a bit of competition does any player good, It shows how keen they are to play for the club. He needs it now more than every, so goodluck to him!!
North Bristols Cider Army Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Luke is a top player but at the moment with Scotty playing well on the left wing and also Noble and Russell playing very well in midfield I can't see Skippy getting back into the starting 11. It would need him to either come on as a sub, but he also needs to ensure that he works hard and when he is finally given his chance, he needs to take it with both hands. He's not going to be happy keeping the bench warm, especially in this world cup year. He just needs to keep his attitude right and keep fighting for his place.
