Guest Dan C Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 By West Ham but rejected it, http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=35...d+Hammers+trialSorry If this has already been mentioned but I couldn't find anything on here.
Riaz Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Why did we release him???He was ten times the player Bas Savage is.............
ChubStixx Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Why did we release him???He was ten times the player Bas Savage is.............I think he was deemed a luxury...... a luxury we couldn't afford. I think.
Riaz Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I've never seen a player as strong as Rougier........... just imagine if he was built like Bas Savage??!!
Guest Dan C Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I still find it hard to understand why they let him go, Players like Carey, A Brown, Peacock had left on frees so there was the scope to bring him in, Then a month later Tins got given money to buy Heffs, Orr etc etc.
Guest Dan C Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 did you go to cardiff? Yes I went to Cardiff and also went to most of the games that Rougier played for us.
Guest jon Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 did you go to cardiff?Has he been to many games at all?
Gazred Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 When he left us, i thought fair enough, he had done a job and helped us to the playoffs, but at 34 surely hes past the Prem? Looks like he might end up at the World Cup though, it really is a funny old game
RedTauntonian Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Should never of let him go, was definatly the right answer out there on the wing.
SE23Red Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I'd be shocked and amazed if he plays a single game in the Premiership.Pardew signed him for Reading so knows the player and probably agreed to him training with the squad to regain his fitness or something - this goes on a lot with clubs letting players train with them without having any intention of signing them. Occasionally the media make a big deal of it, usually because the player's agent wants to get his client's name on the agenda as he is without a club. Can anyone fill in the gaps between him playing at Cardiff 18 months ago and him not training with West Ham now?

Think he went to China or Japan and also went to the USA and i think also his home town club in T&T.
Lordofthebling Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Wasnt that great... Great heart and bless his cotton socks, but West Ham?!
TomBCFCUK Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 So he wouldnt consider coming back here then, shame! Good player had pace and skill and could also deliver that final ball, was a bit inconsistant that was his only downfall.
Puckle_red Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Totally disagree, sorry, all the games I saw him play I thought he was very consistant, also very strong, a great character he really appreciated the supporters, the only game he wasn`t decent in was the playoff final, yet who was?

Rocky Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 OH.MY.GOD(just picking myself off the floor)WTF is going on? WEST HAM!?
Guest Ron Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Is this Anthony Rougier or Tony Rougier? I saw Tony play once I think, at the play-off final, and he was one of the better of a poor (crap) bunch. Although I thought he was a winger?

BS4 on Tour... Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I have always been shouted down on here when praising Rougier - but it is players like him, Wayne Allison, Shaun Goater, Steve Torpey, Colin Cramb etc etc etc that I crave for now.Ok, they may not be world-beaters at present but who would put Bas Savage ahead of any of those mentioned above? Ok, Bas seems to be trying but he is clearly not up to it.Most of the players I have listed are still banging in the goals and most of them are in our division.Rougier was as strong as an ox and gave his all - I would pick him every week if he was still here...........cue abuse!
Guest Ron Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 increase the dosage ron but steady the bufters.Hey I'd only seen City play twice before, don't blame me
Guest jon Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 cue abuse! You smell!! Oh, you're right about Rougier by the way.Scooter Red
Guest BCFC_JOHNERZ_1988 Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 hes 1 of the only wingers that doesnt use pace to get under defenders skini can always remember him when he was in the corner with 3 players on him and he he through all of them gooood difference times.....gooood times
Guest ThOrNiE! Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 He was quality for us when he played, BRING HIM BACK!!
Guest sbl800 Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Rougier once said Bristol City is my family. Nobody upsets my family.Refering to oposition that City were about to play. Unfortunately Bristol City fc made him an orphan after the Brighton game in Cardiff!
