Guest SUPER REDS Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 We started with five good strikers and now only have Brooker and Stewart remaining it may as be one as obviuosly Johnson does not want to choose him, crazy bit of business this,I siad a few weeks a go with out murray and brooker we can not score regulary as proved yesterday, simply Johnson has to put things right with Stewart for the sake of the club,or get someone on loan quickly,we have only six homes games left so I say sign someone this week before the Brentford game,if we win all six that gives us 53 points should be enough with a few away points 58 points would hopefully be enough to stay up. T Thorpe is on a unattached loan to colchester do not know if he would come back and score another 5 to 10 goals could make all the diference, but we need someone else now

TomBCFCUK Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Should of brought a decent striker in the Transfer Window, we tryed for Hayter and Reddy! But there was others out there..I.e Leon Knight went to Swansea for 125,000 he could easily score goals at this level as he has already shown! We have 2 options in my opinion which will keep us in this League!A) Play Stewart alongside Brooker!B) Play Wilkshire just behind Brooker!I think it is too late to bring in ANOTHER loan player and expect them to do well, plus there will be no gaurenteed he would be given a chance for example Adam Green from Fulham don't think he has even been on the Bench since he has been here! Which makes me think has Johnson ever seen any of these Loan's play before he actually loan's them...Which might make sence with the Andrews Deal as he don't seem the type of player we need! So my option would be A) or B) or else i think we will find are self in the relegation zone!(Only My Opinion)Tom
Guest 30BCFC90 Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 1.) i think we let lita go to early- if we still had him, think where we could have been sitting in the league now.2.) heffernan went- tinnion should have kept him didnt give him enough time to prove himself 3.) bridges went because he was unsettled and was not up to scratch for us!4.) Gillespie was, again, not given enough time in my eyes and should have been in the first team as soon as lita left becuase he is a very good prospect 5.) Now GJ is so desperate for stikers due to loads going he brings in a striker similar to crouch- cant score!

Should have stayed, one of many mistakes being made by GJ
Robbored Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 No point crying over split milk. What players are gone are gone. The bottom line is that if Brooker gets injured again as on saturday the cupboard is pretty bare. The facts are that City have two strikers who have less than three career goals between them starting ahead of a player who has arond 200 career goals and at only 33 still is capable imo of scoring more goals - certainly at this level. Its beyond comprehension that Johnson started with Andrews ahead of Stewart last saturday. It has to be the most ridiculous decision I think I've ever seen a City manager make.It makes me wonder if Johnson has lost the plot and is truly out of his depth.Surely with City so near the drop zone any manager would play his most experienced team and yet he plays a ex-Luton Town reserve boy. Madness.
robins72 Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Will he take a chance and get an emergency loan signing then? Surely he must be getting concerned about the lack of goals we are scoring? Press the panic button or take a chance on out most experienced player we have???

Judging by 90% of his loan signings which only upsets contract players even more, GJ has to make up time somehow on the mistakes he's made already! So no more loans, unless there is no one left for that position

Madness. To have formed such a strong opinion you must clearly be an expert on Andrew (I'll assume as you are so well informed 'Andrews' was a typo rather than ignorance). As I've not seen him yet tell me all about him...

Surely he must be getting concerned about the lack of goals we are scoring? Press the panic button or take a chance on out most experienced player we have??? If there was a better loan signing available than Andrew then presumably Gary would have signed him insteadSo the reality isAndrew was the best available (in Gary's opinion)Don't expect any forwards coming in on loan now

Only a few hundred City fans have seen Andrew play but it seems many who haven't have made their mind up about him already.
