Bristol Boy
2001/2002 Winners 6 Second 8 2002/2003 Top 4 2nd 10 We've already lost 4 and with Wigan's run last year considered exceptional, I would say we could loose another 2 and finich top and another 4/6 and still finish second. Robbored
Its rare for any team to get promoted automatically after losing 10 or more games.City lost 11 last season which cost them promotion. Two less defeats and a draw and a win would have seen City up automatically. Thats why I've not complained very much about Wilsons' early season tactics - City have been avoiding defeat most of the time.4 losses at this stage of any season is pretty good but not yet good enough. cheshire_red
That is a fair assessment for most scenarios, however, if, as we were until the end of November, drawing more games than we were winning, it just does not work. With 3 points for a win it is so important to go for the win and not to settle for the draw. Something which we were just not doing and Danny seemed quite content. As an example if you were to attain an equal number of draws to wins and lose 6 games in a season then your points tally would equate to 80 points, well short of auto place. However if you were to lose 12 games, win 26 and draw 8 then 86 points would probably equate to promotion.
