Team For Tonight

Will we have another feast of attacking football with keystone cops defending from both teams??

Will Coventry save Micky Adams job by winning?

Will either City or Oldham have to play extra time, thus handing them the tired legs excuse if they lose Saturday?

Will Showumni score his first away goal for City?

OR

Will both managers try to be more solid, defend peoperly and try to pinch it on the break??

I honestly don't know although I feel that it is very likley that, with Wilson unavailable and barring injuries we could see the same line up that faced Tranmere with only one enforced change on the bench.

If it was me I'd go a line up that allowed us to defend & attack and that gave us balance.Players would play who would be rested to the bench at Oldham.

KEOGH.CAREY...........MCCOMBE.............WOODMAN......

MURRAY............SKUSE............JOHNSON.............MCCALLISTER.............

...........BROOKER........JEVONS...........

SHOWUMNI

FONTAINE

MYRIE-WILLIAMS

Left out Orr, Wilson (Cup Tied) Partridge (Loan) Brown (Loan) Russell

With reference to Coventry's injury crisis, take that with a pinch of salt as 10 of the 14 players they used agasinst us started against Palace on Saturday and they still had enough players to leave Adebola on the bench and Andrews out altogether in a 4-3-3 that saw McKenzie,Kyle & John up front.

Colin Cameron who scored their first goal is out so that's handy.

Showunmi scored his first away goal for City at Forest in the JPT.

I'd play Woodman, too, but with Enoch instead of Jevons, but GJ won't, he'll play the side that started on Saturday.

I thought that and then I thought, Enoch, big game Saturday, three games (with the possibility of extra time) in eight days.......with his reputation.......

The other side of it is Jevons Cup Goal Scoring Record par excellance.

As I said, I believe that GJ will start with the same XI that started against Tranmere.

I'm going to guess that GJ will go with the same side from Saturday.

Although a win would be great, losing wouldn't be the end of the world. Extra time probably would with Oldham coming up and GJ doesn't draw many, so I think we'll see a genuine attempt to win in 90 minutes regardless of risk.

Still debating whether I can get there after the slave drivers let me out at 6:30.

Wilson is Cup tied LOTB, but I'm with you for the attacking left side option, i say treat it as a home game, go for it, nothing to lose bar a few quid for the home gate in the next round.

We don't seem to be able to keep a clean sheet lately so 2 or 3 goals is the only way for us to win (awaits 0-1 victory!).

A good performance is all that is required tonight - A win will be a bonus, though one i am sure we would all swap for on Saturday.

GJ rarely changes a winning team so good money will be on the same line up as Tranmere.

Personally I would go for Enoch and Brooker up top with JMW on the left. Cov look vunerable in the air at the back.

So you would seriously play two left backs, one in front of the other?

Wow - exciting stuff.

Lets go for broke - get JMW left wing - Orr RB, Nobes and Skusey in the middle and Enoch and Brooks up front - ok?!?!?

*Edit - Wilson - Cup Tied.

Actually, I would.

Whilst I am pleased that (touching wood) we are unbeaten in fourteen our record is P14 W7 D7 L0 F26 A18

I'm counting Forest as a draw after ninety minutes because if you start including a penalty competition that goals stats go haywire and become meaningless.

In the last six games P6 W2 D4 L0 F13 A11

That stated at Cheltm where we forgot how to start games and, moreover, how to defend.

You can see that an even modest defence would have turned two of those draws into wins and we'd be top pf the League or not needing to play tonight!

Gung Ho is all ver well but it won't work against the better teams and it's hardly surprising we arent tight at the back when we go into games with three strikers, a winger and an attacking midfielder!!.......I just thought, GJ's added an attacking full back

Its a tricky one.

With adams sacking imminent, is it likely the players will be playing to save his job?

My opinion is no, they wont.

We didnt exactly perform to our best at the 7-1 drubbing @ swansea now did we.

We should go out and play pacy, attacking football.

keeping the ball grounded, and doing what we're best at: passing.

it seems that when we pass the ball we're unstoppable.

And we should really be able to out play a poor form coventry side.

Coventry are low on confidence and as Johnson said in todays press the longer City frustrate Coventry or better still take the lead the more likely it is that the locals will start getting on the backs of their players.Obvioulsy thats good for City so I would expect City to start with the same 11 as saturday and go for it right from the whistle.

The bottom line is that tonight's match is not crucial in the wider scheme of things so if City do go 'gung ho' and come away out of the FA Cup no-one will really mind.

Sit back and enjoy it ,I say.

My prediction - 0-2 ......... :noexpression:
