Bristol Boy
I'm not claiming any inside knowledge or to be a mind reader, but I've got a feeling after listening to GJ over the last few days that BW will be playing right back for us.That means we will still sign a striker over the next ten days and, very possibly, a left winger.GJ's reasons could be that Wilson's far better going forward, has a long throw, like McAllister, Fontaine & McCombe- better crossing ability, takes set pieces and scores goals.A right footed Mick Bell in a manner of speaking. That would give us good footballing abilty in both full back positions, not just defending as with Keogh & Woodman.Like I say, I haven't got names, it's just a hunch. Lordofthebling
Thats what I am hoping for as well.Bradley and Richard have done well for us, however they are not right backs - certainly not Championship quality right backs.I'm hopeful as well that we do sign a left winger and do not try and play Wilson there in the all too usual "he can do a job for us out there." We need someone who is only a left winger.I suppose Wilson can be backup on the left wing if GJ does not get his man - but I really do hope for a left winger to help us push on. Nibor
I was thinking the same about Wilson the moment he came on for Orr on Saturday. I'm sure at some point he'll get used to cover other positions but I would guess that he's been brought in as a right back. After improving massively last season Orr hasn't continued that this season and might well be as good as he's going to get now. Wilson looked very handy in the short time we saw him on the pitch.I sincerely hope there's a left winger and a striker with pace coming in - in that priority order. Guest cidersam
Wilson did look good when he came on. He looked far more comfortable in that position than what you see Orr or Keogh.Wilson's preferred position is right back thats is natural position, he only played on left wing for cheltenham cos they had noone to play there after a few injuries and cos he scored a few they kept playing him there for rest of last season. I reckon we will sign a striker not sure about left winger though as Myrie-williams and showunmi can both play on the wing (aswell as Wilson if need be) and if you sign a striker you can afford to play one of those two on the wing as will still have cover upfront. grifty
I think Keogh will start concentrating on being a Centre-back, while BO will be a sub right back maybe? Not a bad bit of back-up there IMO.
Cyderman
I agree that it looks like Wilson will play right back, and I wonder if this may mean the end for Bradley Orr at City. With Keogh able to cover right back, will Johnson look to move Orr out in order to finance a left winger?
dezgimed
Stick Orr in midfield as a battling midfielder?Stick Keogh in midfield to burst forward? So many options...
Guest ookman
Wilson did look good when he came on saturday, could have been that tranmere started defending deeper and deeper at the time.Maybe if Orr had stayed on he would have exploited the same space that Wilson was being given, and we've yet to see Wilson up against an attacking left winger.I not sure if it's the end of Bradleys days at the gate as Johnson seems to prefer him to Keogh at RB and Bradley started at CITY as a central midfield player.
