Selection Options & Dilemas

Depending whether you're an optimist or a pessimist.....even perhaps a realist like myself, there are lots of things, win lose or draw to consider after tomorrows game.

We now have FOUR players-THREE of the first choice back four, on a suspension.

The team tomorrow won't show many changes from the one that won at Coventry unless GJ really surprises us.The options we have include:

Andrews in for Jevons-Straight swap

Wilson on the left, Showumni up front and Andrews on the bench is the one I'd bet on.

JMW on the left & ES up front.

Murray left, Wilson or Andrews right, ES up front.

That would leave the subs as:

WEALE

ANDREWS

RUSSELL

KEOGH

JMW/FONTAINE/WOODMAN/NOBLE*

IF McCombe, Carey or McAllister get booked, then they can play against Brighton and will miss Boro in McCombes case or Boro plus + 1 in the case of McCallister & Carey (who we hope doesn't get an additional ban for what will be his third suspension).

So, if they do get booked at Oldham, they may as well all play against BHA because they then won't play for a week at least.

TAKES A DEEP BREATH :D

IF we beat BHA then we'll have Rovers a week later and that could be the game that they miss and it's looking more and more likely that it will be at least two, if not all three, out at the same time or for at least one game.

Then, what if they get booked against Brighton? That means they can play against Boro and will miss the Area Final plus one game-Scunny!!.

I would suggest that we use some of the squad players against BHA for a number of reasons-The first teamwill be fresher for Boro and we'll have a strong side out against the Gas/Shrewsbury in the all important first leg at AG...providing we win, of course. It would also reduce the opportunity for all three players to get banned at once.

On the upside, we do have strength in depth in defence and a back four that included Orr, Keogh, Fontaine & Woodman wouldn't be terrible in games against BHA and The Gas/Shrewsbury.

If another striker arrives next Weds, then we will have three options on the right flank and Wilson, Murray & Brown can also feature on the left-plus Woodman if we're 4-0 up and defending that lead in the second leg of the JPT.

I'm off for a lie down ;)

I gotta feeling Russell in centre midfield and Skuse on the left!

But then again Johnson said back to the drawing board with the Skuse on the left option so I think Enoch on the left and Myrie-Williams up front.

I'd like to see Enoch left mid and Andrews up front from the start. Maybe Wilson RB instead of Orr but Orr dosnt deserve dropping!

Will be a very interesting selection headache for Johnson!
