glastonred
There used to be a club membership scheme, which recognized those fans, like myself, who are not season ticket holders, and gave us a 'secondary' priority when purchasing tickets for cup matches. A couple of years or so ago this scheme was suddenly dropped, without any real reason given. I would like to call on the directors to re-instigate this membership, and therefore look after those loyal fans who, for whatever reason, do not buy a season ticket (which in my case is because I cannot get to midweek games, and so it's not economical for me). This would mean that the so-called 'one-gamers' would get put back to the end of the queue which is where they should be.
tommydom
Couldnt agree more mate - I cant make a huge amount of games each season because of other committments but used to pay £ 25. 00 a year for club membership - if there are no big games you are at least giving the club some money unlike the ' One Game Glory Brigade '.If directors read this then yes please consider re - instating this scheme ! REDOXO
I had many email conversations surrounding the membership scheme with the then comercial manager...His name escapes me but he seemed like a nice bloke....Two or three yeras agoThose of us who were members of the football club never even got so much of a letter explaining that the members club had been wound up. The membership scheme for that season was replaced by a ticket stub collection scheme and a piece of cardboard that you were supposed to stick your tickets on to gain rewards from the club...Such as entry to the red-and-white bar etc...This I thought was absurd and made my thoughts very plain...However the clubs position was some supporters had complained 'one gamers' were becoming memebers and getting priority tickets...And as I seemed to be the only one that really made a fuss about the whole affair the club expunged the system...And in to the bargain lost all the revenue created by people becoming members...I did suggest those supporters who purchase World should get priority for tickets to big games...but this was ignored...I suggest this is still a good comprimise and if there is enough people to put it forward the club would have to listen...Over to you gentlememen....I now live in the USA but my family still travel from Surrey to most games....However it is extremely difficult for supporters in their mid/late seventies to buy tickets online and the phone was jammed for those who called in...Thus some exiles in particular are put at a massive disadvantage....Hope this helps
wesco
But I don't want to sign up to world because it's rubbish and all I get to see is poor quality highlights of our matches which I either see live or watch off sky or the local news. Also believe it or not, not everyone has a computer so that idea I don't think will ever work. I can't see why we can't have membership again, all this about away fans would have too have the same is rubbish, I don't blame the club it's the football leagues fault. REDOXO
Exactly I don't know why a club membership that allows members to purchase tickets should have any effect on away supporters...So unless someone can explain why, I would say its a pretty bogus argument....However to your point...Club membership was never free...And if my memory serves me the last season I paid 25 quid to be a member....So no matter how crap you think world is...And if you live abroad its as good as it gets...At the least you are getting something for your money....So how about an extra fiver being added to the cost of world for club membership...Just an idea...Membership will not be free

It would be beneficial to you, the Trust, and to us fans in this category. Keep the club with its real supporters the ones here in the bad times, not the prawn brigade. I know that he's been reading this forum with interest regarding the ticketing issues that some people have encountered this week. As metioned in another thread, the Trust have drafted together a document that has been sent to the Club in advance of Monday's meeting. The document highlifghts the issues, the impact of these issues and suggests possible methods of preventing the issues from resurfacing so easily. I'll draw his attention to this thread though I'm sure he's already well on the case.Cheers.
