Oizys
It brought his bookings for the season to five, which meant the ban kicked in immediately. This may have been covered elsewhere, but if it has i've missed it... If the ban kicks in immediately, which i thought was always supposed to be the case now, then why the hell does McCombe miss Boro instead of tonight's match? I know which team i'd have rather had him face!

Admin Ian M Posted January 24, 2007 Admin Share Posted January 24, 2007 For all the talk of Yakubu, Downing & Viduka being dangermen, this is the player I would have chosen to take out of their side if I could have chosen one.Basically think Vieira at Arsenal and you have Boateng's importance to the Boro side. The other players are good players but they can't do much if they don't have the ball. Without Boateng, Middlesbrough will enjoy considerably less possession than they would if he was playing! Guest CGS RED
Viduka has a good first touch and positional play, gets in behind the defence. City have their defensive drills worked out, but I would consider man marking Viduka with Keogh tied to his shorts. He thrives on a bit of space, and will be totally frustrated and replaced by 50 minutes, as he spits the dummy when marked that close. Its happened this season, as some managers are on the ball and have him worked out.
