A little while back I was told by a colleague that City were after a top Czech.

I posted thinking it was Roman Bednar.

But now reckon it could be this guy. Fits the bill?

But it appears that my Scottish contact says that he is wanted by a number of clubs in the Championship.

I can't believe we're looking at him - he should be way out of our league. If we got him I would cream myself I'm sure. What a strike rate and still really young. Maybe the Hearts connection is going to take us all the way to the Premiership ....

Be prepared to cream yourself :noexpression:

May miss out to sides who can pay that Championship wage.

He must be on a decent wack at Hearts, but is still young. Maybe Mini Johnson & Big Mac have done a job on him.

As I said above in the betsy thread, we are after Michal Pospisil.

One things for sure, if he does sign he'll be the first major cash signing Johnson has made. It's going to take £300k+ to bring him to the Gate.

only cost his presnent club £300K and remember we got Mcallister and johnson jr for free cause they weren't in first team plans.#

cash; yes. £300K? me thinks same or a bit less. it's not like they need the money.

Look what I found in that video....

Class!

It is noticable that he tends to be congratulated by and celebrate most with players either no longer at Hearts (Pressley, Jamie Mac), or who are at odds with the management (Heartley). He's a George Burley signing, and with lots of new players at the club he isn't stating at the mo. only problem could be southampton jumping in.

but let's all 'BELIEVE', and maybe he will come! :innocent06:

Surely this guy is destined for the CCC ?!? is there any truth in this rumour at all ?

From what I gather from Up North is that few clubs after him from CCC, but City are in with a shout.

Stumbling block could well be wages. I reckon if we were in CCC he would signed up & playing Saturday.

if you look at his stats on the hearts site he does not play many games a season

neither did Mcallister n his last year there, and e must be on of our top players this term.

other factors beyond fitness effect selection at Hearts FC. Its a very odd place...

What would that amount to? ... set against the cost of failure to get promoted this time?

You have to think something is afoot, what with half the strike force out or doubtful for Saturday and a natural goal-scorer like Benyon despatched on loan again. The Pospisil video suggests he's too good for us* but at least he's not cup-tied for Saturday or the Paint Pot!

* Cautionary word: Lee Miller scored some cracking

looking goals at Hearts after he left us.

Wage structure set at League one level - and if failure to get promotion then the structure remains in place.

Maybe the players demands are just too much & while disappointing, Johnson dosn't take too kindly to greedy players.

Perhaps his demands have not impressed the manager.

exactly.

Pospisil was a George Burley signing, and with most of the other ones of these 'eliminated' in the various 'purges' since his departure it wouldn't be too much to suggest this fella could be next in line.

You're right about the "not Lithuanian enough bit", but bear in mind that Hearts have just signed a player on FIFTEEN grand a week. It might well be that his wages are out of range if they're paying silly money, we'll have to wait and hope.

This is a dead deal. He wants £8k a week plus a huge signing on fee. The club are trying to tempt him with a big promotion bonus but I think we can forget this guy as of now.

Where did you get this info from?

looking on the youtube video. He is the type of player johnson wants. He looks quite tall in the videos and poaches goals. His finishing looks out of this league.

At the end of the day, One youtube video of him scoring 7 or 8 goals is not going to prove all the facts so maybe there is another side to his play which is either very good indeed and deservedly has championship clubs sniffing round after him or he is just plain lazy and hangs around the box.

This info was available from within the club yesterday afternoon but I was sworn to silence at that point. That said the club are continuing to work with the player's agent today in the hope of finding some middle ground.

What no-one seems to know is why Betsy hasn't signed yet.

Don't think wages are the issue.

More to do with living costs :disapointed2se:

Cardy, yesterday you were creaming yourself at the thought of getting such a player.

Today you seem to have stumbled on some key information. So you now know that the info is correct?

Don't think the wage info you have is quite right.

I really really hope this is true

Pospisil has been truly awful on most turn outs, theres no denying he knows were the net is, hes an excellent finisher but the rest of his game is shocking

Its like playing with 10 men, he's inconsistent, lazy, he cant control the ball, he cant run with the ball, he cant pass the ball

We were done paying 350k for him and any club who pays a fee for him will have been too

I hope he does well down there and suspect he might score a few- mainly due to the fact itll suit his inept "ability" more

If you lot are being asked for 8k a week that is a joke, an average footballer at best worth about a quarter of that

We have a few other shit strikers (and midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers too that point) you can have

We have a cracking right back called ibby tall - 8k a week and he can be yours too :disapointed2se:

What did you think of Johnson, and McCallister when they was with you?

Because they are arguably 2 of our best players, cracking signings. Seen a few clips of popisil, and he is a brilliant finisher, which is what we need.

Johnson didnt really get a chance, but he struggled badly too adapt to the pace, he didnt get time on the ball and that basically stopped him playing, wasnt too sad to see him go and if it wasnt for rixxy he would never have been at hearts as he simply was never going to be good enough

McCallister and this is my opinion only, most jambos will disagree was a steady pro who didnt let us down often, he just wasnt a star and when we had so much quality in front of hims (fyssas, goncalves, wallace) it was inevitable he would need to go

The one thing these players didnt have was commitment and work effort, pospisil doesnt have that and I can see him becoming the league bitch to all the hatchett men centre halfs
