gazareth
Hobson's Choice?!The plot revolves around Willie Mossop, a gifted, but unappreciated shoemaker employed by the domineering Henry Horatio Hobson. Semi-literate and content with his lot, he is bullied by Hobson's eldest daughter, Maggie (over the hill by Victorian terms at the ripe old age of 30), into marrying her and setting up in a shop of his own. Maggie and her two younger sisters Alice and Victoria (Vickey) have worked most of their lives in their father's store without wages and are eager to be married and out of the shop. Alice is engaged to Albert Prosser, a young up-and-coming solicitor, and Vickey to Fred Beenstock, son of a respectable corn merchant.Between her sales skill and his shoemaking talent, the enterprise is very successful and, within a year, he's taken nearly all Hobson's trade. At Maggie's urging, Mossop goes into partnership with Hobson, now an almost-bankrupt alcoholic, on condition that Hobson take no further part in the business.I think you meant "Sophie's Choice"? At least that's the common phrase for a rather tricky decision without a positive outcome either way. Although I don't really think you can compare choosing which of your kids will die in a Nazi deathcamp with trying to decide who will partner Enoch up front on Saturday

The crowd will be vital, the nightmare scenario is Boro' score a goal ( or even 2 ) in the first 20 minutes and the game becomes an anti-climax. Mind you, it's the F.A.Cup so anything's possible, perhaps we'll shock them early on in which case a packed AG could carry the lads to victory. Boro's strikers are a big worry, but Orr against an in - form Downing could be the key. Never been overly impressed with Downing but last weekend he looked as though he could take any full-back apart and his crosses were pin-point. Unfortunately, we haven't had this for a long time. Take Tranmere's second goal against us. When was the last time we had central midfelders who would be in that positiosn ready to pounce on a loose ball on the edge of the area. I honestly can't remember. Don't get me wrong, i'm not slating the quality in the midfield, i just don't think we have the right blend to be able to pull off the 4-5-1. If this is going to be done, then maybe bring Woody in, move Macca up and tuck Jennifer Mary Williams inside as an attacking midfielder to make some probing runs down the middle. It is a shame that we've got so many unavailable players. Scotty Brown would relish this sort of game...So... 4-5-1BassoOrr Keogh Carey WoodmanMurray Johnson Skuse McCallisterMary WilliamsEnochSubs:WealeFontaineRussellNobleArtusIF Brooks makes it, then he'd be in the same side as above in place of Woody, but in a 4-4-2, with Jennifer and Macca moved back. CityGill
I think a big factor in this game will be the quality of the cross, both teams have players that can pake inch perfect cross's and both teams have a big strong attacker. I can see headed goals in the match ahead. Lets hope Basso is on top of his game and doesnt flap at to many of downings crosses. Jamie Mcombe is a great loss from this aspect. Also hopefully McAllister and muray can get some pinpoint cross's in for the likes of Showumni.

Need to go at them from the start, City do not need a replay and with confidence being high need to ensure that result is close, with big league games in the week after heads can not drop. Hello all. This is one of my first posts for quite a while now. My grammar was awful the last time I shared my thoughts on this site and unfortunatley it hasnt improved one little bit. So I will apologise for these inevitable mistakes in advance. Sorry! Anyway....Sombody has posted above that GJ should play 4-5-1 with Myrie-Williams in midfield and Woodman at right back. It doesnt make any sense to me to change our formation, given our current form, not to mention that Myrie-Williams is a striker and would be more comfortable playing in his natural role.I appreciate where the poster was coming from, however I think that we should play to our own strengths and focus on our own game, rather than just trying to counter the dangers that Boro's Prem-stars pose.Bring them on! Cant wait.

Cant wait.I agree that we should play to our strengths. Unfortunately, we're not very strong for Saturday with the players we have missing. I don't think JMW has played particularly well at all as an out and out striker when given the chance this season. A deeper role, from where he may not be picked up as much as if he were playing as an out and out striker, could actually work very well with his blistering pace. With experience behind him he'll be a quality striker, but at the moment, we need to use what we can of him and the more i think of this, if Brooker isn't fit, then the more sense it seems to make. But then, that's football i suppose... all down to opinions. (Oh, and i put Woodman at left back, not right back... )With such a striker shortage though, it's very strange that we've let Benyon go back out on loan. Which would suggest that GJ has someone lined up for Saturday maybe..?

Come on the CITYOn balance, I tend to agree with your team as opposed to an alien 4-5-1 formation that I've never seen work for City and, for once we are about out of options.Of course we have take the quality of the opposition into account and Boro are quality, but I still say our best chance of a win is on Saturday and the only other option is at the back with Fontaine partnersing Carey and CW at left back. It's a close call.
