Guest Old Dazzler Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I don't know if its a persecution complex, too much sensitivity, or whether supporting Bristol (!) for all these years has given most of us a low self esteem and insecurity issues, but the post about Sky Sports bias has got me thinking that we don't half complain about the smallest little thing, and that's not including anything that happens on the pitch. So apart from the the Sky team, the following seem to hate us, or are biased against us. The Evening Post, Radio Bristol, Premiership referees, Geoff Twentyman, Gareth Southgate, The BBC (for not picking our game for MOTD), HTV's Soccer Night (because they feature other local teams),all other referees, Gasheads, the National Press, the local corrupt Avon and Somerest Gestapo, not too mention the equivalent in the West Midlands, and basically anyone who calls us "Bristol".Just to take the complaint about being called Bristol (not Bristol City), when we sing "One Team in Bristol", have a fanzine of the same name, and this very board takes its initials from the very phrase (OTIB) makes us seem a a bit contrary! My analyst told me I suffer from paranoia - but she always had it in for me!But for pity's sake, can't we just lighten up - I'm sure none of the above really hate us - OK I'll give you the Evil Post!

Perspective realised with age, man - you'll grow out of it.Plus, just because I am paranoid doesn't mean that everybody's not out to get me does it?No! I'm going to stamp my feet and have a tantrum everytime someone refers to this Club as 'Bristol' alone. The term 'OTIB' is not much more than a pop at our peasent neighbours and deep down, we do actually know they exist even if they're not worthy of our recognition.I know it's an unfortunate circumstance of ours, but 'Bristol' coming from anybody and everybody who isn't Bristolian is a pure sign of ignorance, and at a flippent push; disrespect. As for The Evening Post, Radio Bristol, Premiership referees, Geoff Twentyman, Gareth Southgate, The BBC (for not picking our game for MOTD), HTV's Soccer Night, all other referees, Gasheads, the National Press, the local corrupt Avon and Somerest Gestapo, not too mention the equivalent in the West Midlands well - they all hate us too!

Johnny Rotten does in fact go by the persona Johnny Lydon...And as I understand it feels that certain posters on the OTIBC forum are not respecting this...When asked if he was being paranoid about the issue he replied 'There's no future for me.....
exiledinwatford Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 It doesn't get better with age. When I announce who I support yer typical Home Counties ignoramus normally says -Do you still play at Bath?Wasn't your ground just off the M32?Didn't you have Warboys and Bannister? (That was my personal favourite)Every now and then though I find someone who has actually been to AG albeit supporting the visiting side. Pity that it was often during the 70s when they were chased back to Temple Meads! The way I see it everybody is against us - or maybe they're just against me?

The same band who released a song entitled 'God Save The Queen' with the lyrics ''God save the Queen, the facest regime, and there's no future and England's dreaming'' the very week of the Queen's Silver Jubilee? Well frankly and I assume you must have misunderstood him - I was only following the great man's lead - and I'll continue to do so now - he can kiss my ass! It doesn't get better with age. I think Football in this city has had such malignant under-achievement and lack of national recognition that we have developed a relative inferiorety complex and are unsurprisingly sensitive about it.Getting us confused with scum, I've experianced it too, what other Club's have to deal with that sort of crap? No wonder I feel an identity crisis. As for paranoid? There is a massive cannabis scene in The Beautiful City and we all know what the psychiatrests have to say about that.... the local hopelessly corrupt Avon and Somerest Gestapo and their puppet snob Magistrate God/Queen etc etc imposter mastersNo disrespect old chap but I've just corrected a glaring error in your post on behalf of Oliver Cromwell's reincarn... The Red Goblin.

Furthermore Mr Lydon is puckering up as we speak...Is there a future in it for him?...Now his Public Image is severly damaged...Sleep well young man....
