Red Robin Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 This guy has to go back to Southampton as he can no longer stay at Yeovil any longer.Very quick, scores goals would fit into our team nicely, could be the final piece in the jigsaw to take us up.SL and GJ you should get this guy in quickly before somebody snaps him up.
City_pete1 Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Sound like Wayne Andrews to me...A tad but a bit more physical. I think we should get him, if only for more options on the bench. Injuries seem to effect the strikers a lot this year, so another option in the vital end to the season would be a great positive I think.

cidercity1987 Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 As long as Andrews keeps up his 1 in 2 record then he's good enough for me. I'd say there's no point getting Best in with Andrews doing alright. We haven't got an endless amount of money after all.
Nibor Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 How many times have you seen him play Red Robin?
Red Robin Posted February 17, 2007 Author Posted February 17, 2007 How many times have you seen him play Red Robin?twice in the flesh this season looked very good, once on sky looked good.reports from a yeovil fan who I know rates him highly.also rated highly by local radio.
leadman Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 andrews can and did put himself about today, m jackson had a torrid time with him, he can hold the ball up and works the channels well, not to mention his good finnish.he was knackered but kept going till the end aswell.
Guest redbadger Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Reliable coaching source recommended Leon Best before he went to Yeovil, should of offered to buy him in January instead of taking andrews on loan and buying wilson. Andrews doing well though, but Best would offer something else again up front especially with Brooker fast becomming new sick note
Guest Topbuzz Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I think hes definately a player we should look at Andrews when motivated is very good but it does seem like he needs something to get him up for games when him n Jackson started tanglin n it got a bit personal he really wanted it Brooker on ydays performance is still gnna be a big part of our team

Quick and a great shot!!When we played down at Yeovil he was by far the best player on the pitch by a mile.mind you the city was a shambles that day.

Bristol Boy Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 When we played down at Yeovil he was by far the best player on the pitch by a mile.mind you the city was a shambles that day.Best didn't play I think you're getting him mixed up with Wayne Gray who scored their second goal.Love to sign him and that would give us one of the two final pieces in our jigsaw.A left winger would be the other and, if we get promoted, a classy central midfielder in the Tinnion, Kavanagh mould.

Redtucks Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Andrews to me seems lazyYou obviously weren't at Blackpool yesterday! The guy ran his socks off and was totally knackered at the end.Didn't look lazy to me.
BristolCity1992 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 You obviously weren't at Blackpool yesterday! The guy ran his socks off and was totally knackered at the end.Didn't look lazy to me.Beat me to it.Andrews looks good to me however Best is a very good young player the fact he is young attracts me however I cant see Southampton letting him go out on anything but a short loan. With that in mind I would rather have the exeperince of Andrews who if the going gets tough will be able to handle it where as Best might feel the pressure a bit more. If that makes sense?
samo Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 If Ian Dowie takes Andrews back to Coventry to aid in his rebuilding I think Leon Best would be a good shout, though I agree with BristolCity1992 that it is unlikely Southampton will allow us to have him all the way until the end of the season. My only concern would be Best's motivation to come to us. He is meant to have snubbed a loan move to Forest before Yeovil got him, and only moved to the glovers because his best mate played for them (who that is I do not know). Now, this might help our chances (due to geography) but I would be hesitant for us to recruit a player who might be choosing a move to the south west because of his social life, not to elp our promotion fight.Just a thought.
BCFC_Dan Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I saw Best play for a Southampton u18s side at Forest Green in a preseason friendly a couple of years back. He must have been about 16 and really stood out in a quality side that utterly humiliated the FGR seniors - I think it ended up about 6-0 with Best scoring 2 or 3 of them. He looked an absolute class act.
BristolCity1992 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 He has been known about for quite a while and I belive Southampton rate him and if it was not for Rasiak and their other strikers he would probably be in the first 16.He was on Soccer night the other night and a move back did not even seem on the cards usally when a player feels he might have to move on he will say quite a lot "I love the club" Ala Dinning and a few others that have been here the past 5 years.
