Robbored Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 As we need points away I reckon this formation could bring in max points looking strong when all in defence and quick going forwardJohnson explained on the radio that the reason he opted for 3-5-2 was because of the poor sandy pitch on which City would struggle to play their usual passing game football.Probably learnt from the Scunny experience of playing on their cabbage patch of a 'pitch'.If the pitch is suitable at Brighton I would expect to see 4-4-2 again.
Guest Jamie Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I wouldn't mind seeing this formation (3-5-2) at away games when they are going to be tight such as games like Crewe & Doncaster because we can stop teams playing through us and still be attacking minded with a team like: - BassoCarey McCombe KeoghMurray Johnson Noble Russell McAllisterBrooker ShowunmiAlso leaving us with a very strong bench: - Weale, Fontain, Skuse, Betsy, JevonsThis also leaves us with players like Andrews, Wilson, Orr & JMW for if any of the above are injured or not preforming.

Guest Jamie Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 so you would leave orr (a versatile player at the very least) out of the 16 man squad?Yes because although Orr has been in the squad all season he is not better than any of the back 3 (imo) he ain't going to play rwb and he doesn't fit into the midfield! So yes I would leave Orr out unless he can sort his 40/50 yard pointless punts out.

Guest Jamie Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I SAID FOR GAMES LIKE DONCASTER & CREWE! Which are ages away, when we play teams like Brighton we can play our normal 4-4-2. Don't moan at me it's my choich, if you think it's shit then post your so I can moan about your's!
