pdgifford64 Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 In light of recent performances and lack of atmosphere at last nights match also the events that took place at the Huddersfield game i`ll throw this on the table:Is AG becoming more intimidating for own team than the opposition ?PDG
Barrs Court Red Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 I think you may be right. The amount of moaning and groaning is clearly audible, mostly misplaced nonsense at that.
Portishead Red Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Ive got this wild and crazy idea - call me mad if you like. We could open this one stand that we have, don't know if you've ever heard of it???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Weav Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Exactly, certain areas on AG make noise, East End, E Block Williams, G Block Dolman, B Block Dolman and parts of the ateyo. But because these stands are so open and everyone sits in different places it seems quiet. We need to open the east end asap!
Guest paulie Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 if thats the best atmosphere we can expect down the gate,i think il save all my money for away matches, ive been telling my kids how great it was going to be for weeks now,,,,what a dissapointment for them,i now wish id have taken them with me to boro as we did not stop singing all through the match,i know its only the tin pot cup, and i know its over two legs, but if we cant get ourselves up there when we play that lot ,then there is something wrong, not like the derbys of old
RedTop Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Ive got this wild and crazy idea - call me mad if you like. We could open this one stand that we have, don't know if you've ever heard of it???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But there were home fans in there last night and it didn't seem to add anything to the atmosphere. The whole problem goes much deeper than this, as I have said before.
Barrs Court Red Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Oh come on Red Top, there is no way you can say you expecting fans in the East End to sing last night?? You know as well as I do they were the type of fan just there to see the game, not sing and shout.

Guest paulie Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 i think he was talking about our fans in the ee phil
Collis Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 hmmmmmmm no they werent..they did more singing than any of your crowd last night...just as soon as they started we drowned them out..sorry mate just stating a fact.Rubbish.If you looked to your top right you would have seen a section of supporters who were stood the whole game and singing non stop. Whether you could hear them is a different matter. The thing is with the EE is it sounds really loud when you are in there but for most parts of the game the rest of the ground couldn't hear you at all...
Guest paulie Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 why do we all sing our hearts out when we play away, why?

Collis Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 wake up mate...my familys split and they were up the other end!!! we were very loud and thats a fact, deal with itAfter a few coffees I am very awake thank you. From where I was the only time I heard you was when you sang "one team in bristol" and the countless "goodnight irene" chants, which quite frankly got boring in the end!
Guest paulie Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 would you have been so loud if you were two nil down ?? no ,but for us being nil nil with you lot is like being two nil down.
deadratinmycider Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 wake up mate...my familys split and they were up the other end!!! we were very loud and thats a fact, deal with itIf thats your mob in full voice, in your biggest game for years then you have nowtto be proud of Phil, FACT. Yeah, you sang the odd Irene durge a couple of times inthe 2nd half but that was all I could hear.
pdgifford64 Posted February 22, 2007 Author Posted February 22, 2007 why do we all sing our hearts out when we play away, why?`cos the majority of travelling support is the vocal support.Supporters prepared to make the effort to travel to away games for the most part are not likely to sit there umming and ahhing, or, as has been the case at AG recently, booing. It seems the majority of the attendance that turn up at the gate are prepared to sit there waiting for something to happen. The longer it takes for that something to occur the tension around the ground is tangible. Then its only a matter of time for the boo boys to start and they can be clearly heard. As on previous replies the sooner a solution to the EE is resolved the better, lets get all the vocal support concentrated at the HOME end.PDG
BCAGFC Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 IMO the atmosphere last night was the worst I have ever experienced at a derby, I think many BCFC fans were just waiting for us to steamroller all over the gas (that was never going to happen the way we are playing at home ATM) and when that didn't happen the crowd started to become more and more aggitated/annoyed/restless/DEPRESSED and that made the atmosphere even more subdued. It also may have been because there was nothing on the game last night (2 legs). The noise from nearly 2,900 gasheads was pathetic IMO and if we could have the same amount of tickets at the RUGBY ground next week they would see what an away crowd should sound like.BCAGFC
just like watching brazil Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 most of the fans at ag only sing if we score in the first 10 minutes if we fail to score after that then thats where the moans and groans come in
