Not by the looks of things on the internet, ticket news released but no mention of the EE!! doesnt look good!!

http://www.bcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/HomeT...,,10327,00.html

On the 29th Jan Mr Lansdown stated that the East End would be open V Brentford at a meeting organised by the Supporters trust but looking at that it suggests otherwise. As of yet there has been no public statement regarding that meeting from the club [i think].

As a supporter who wants to actively promote the game v Brentford a public announcement from BCFC would be more than beneficial.

Oddly enough for the last few weeks, the news that the East End will be open v Brentford has been flashing up on screen every time you enter the completely unofficial Yello Subbers Subcider forum.

Any chance of this forum's Mods arranging something similar?

What does it mean by a limited number!?

Guest tomvickeryBCFC

probably means they will give us 1000 seats in the corner and then say "see the atmosphere is not increased at all now we shall never open it"!!! let us have it all accept the williams corner where away fans are so we can show you what we can do!!!

I wish they would clarify just how many can transfer and if this will be aside from the "limited number" of tickets being sold

What is it with you EE activists?

The club have annouced that the crap view and dire facilities will be open for the Brentford game and all you can do is ask questions about how many tickets are available.

Surely you should be happy?

It was a perfectly relevant question.

we are happy! But, many fans who I was talking to last night didn't know it was open until I had told them. Now, examples like this mean that the club, in our opinion, should be publicising this. It's not just an experiment on our part, it's and experiment by the club. This could be beneficial to the club.

Why it isn't pay on the day I really don't know :disapointed2se:

Still fishing I see :disapointed2se: don't think to many will mind looking away from your seat direction, that will get the view bit sorted; the facilities well you can bring some nice sandwiches and teas around on a tray if you like; problems sorted

to right they should, maybe they alledgedly don't want to see it packed out with City enjoying the footie; as for pay on the day and phone for a ticket geez :disapointed2se: open to all until its sold out up to and including on the day why not? well, ............"poor response" "lack of interest" not enough interest" all excuses that could be dragged out when needed. :disapointed2se:

Surely a big reason that the club don't want it open is because they have to employ more stewards to segregate and they don't get any money for refreshments as they do in the other stands.

They could build refreshments mind you.

This to me is a prime example of why this club forever achieves nothing. The chairmen of the supporters club seems to spend half his time on the internet trying to wind up passionate fans of the club.

This club has only spent 7 years competing at the second level of ENGLISH football since its relegation from the top flight over a quarter of a century ago.

No amount of mickey mouse cups that we all wish we don't qualify for next season or ever again, or the very occasional cup run makes up for competing week in week out at this dire level.

The club is in an ok position in the league but we have been here before and still failed.

There is obviously a problem with the atmosphere because so many people are saying it, so why can't people let bygones be bygones and pull together over this last bit of the season and see if we can make that tiny bit of diffrence we have been unable to so many times before and actualy have a happy summer for once!!

It is just one match. The stand probably won't be there next season, so why can't people just get behind the idea and let the people that want to go in there enjoy themselves and wish them all the best in creating an atmosphere we could all be proud of!!

Come on CITY fans, lets pull together for once and try to pull this underachieving lump of a club on to better things.

If we fail again, we can spend all summer crucifying ourselves!!!!!!

In response to questions about limited ticket numbers and not purchasing on the day, I have clarified these with the club as follows.

There is no intention to limit the numbers in the East End. The only limitation is how many fans Brentford bring. The purpose of this trial is to get as many fans, who want to support the team from the East End, in there as possible.

There is an option to purchase tickets on the day up until 11am at the reduced pre-match prices.

I will ask if the club website can be amended to reflect this. A full article is on the Trust website http://www.bristolcityst.org.uk and the same article will appear in the Supporters Trust Greenun article on Monday. Here is an extract:

Tickets for the East End are now available to all supporters wishing to pre-purchase tickets or swap their season tickets ahead of the game. As usual, supporters will be able to take advantage of reduced ticket prices during up until 11am on the day. No tickets will be available to supporters for the East End between 11am and kick off.

Supporters are therefore advised that all who wish to transfer or purchase tickets for the East End now have two weeks to do so.

I used to love the east end as a kid. But it was ruined when the seats were put in. Since then I moved to the Williams and now the Ayteo. Shame cos those were the best memories I had in the east end. Bring back the terracing!

you should ask the club to put it on the official site.

Me to. I spent many many seasons in the EE with the occaisional venture to the open end (now the Atyeo) all through the late 60's into much of the 70's and part of the 80's.I enjoyed most of it.

Over these decades I matured as a person and slowly began to realise that there were other ways to enjoy watching football. I graduated firstly to the Williams stand and then to the Dolman where I've been a ST holders for many years. As I got older my ways enjoying of football changed and I no longer got a 'buzz' from goading the opposing fans and spending my match time more interested in them than the football.I began to value the alternative perception/view of the game provided my the Williams Stand and the Dolman and my interest of tactics and formation began to grow - thinngs that were impossible to see from the limited view of the EE.

Now I don't have a problem with those that have never experienced the EE as it once was - but the difference is now that it is all seating and thereby has lost some its 'magic'. The EE was always the 'home' end but now its the Atyeo which is another reason why I find it hard to empathise with those that persist in bleating on about how much influence the EE might have upon the atmosphere at AG.They seem to be living in the past - or of a generation where being as close to the away fans as possible is seen as a pre-requisiite for creating an atmosphere.

CH not being picky but according to Thatcham, tickets will be sold up to 11 o`clock on the day of the game :dunno:

Although gas and City were stood for most of the time last game, and no attempt at all was made to change this, I did see a few stewards surround a fan and ask him not to take any photos :disapointed2se: though.

I agree that for ALL those who want to do it one more time this may be the last chance (although I hope not). :city:

Stewards please give it and us a chance;

Rubbish. Do you not remember a few years back when for nearly half a season we were allowed back in the EE. The atmosphere was improved an amazing amount, even the players said so. Remember the tight wins against Wrexham, Plymouth and the like in which a nearly full home section of the wedlocks roared the players on.

I was going with what the club are saying on bcfc.co.uk and it's best people who want their tickets in the ee

to get them sorted as soon as they can, but if there are tickets going up to 11am on the day then fair play.

Come On You Reds!!

There will be posters in local pubs and anybody is welcome to print of copies and hand them out.

Probably not going to do this as much justice as i would have liked as it would have been easier to start promoting this three weeks ago but the clubs official announcement took along time to appear.

So urge anybody like minded amongst your friends to come along and if they have one bring a flag as the club have given permission for flags to be placed over the netting. The more flags the better & lets try in whatever fashion to make it look truly like it is our end.

There will be forty foot of St George putting in a appearance!
