Sargent Pepper Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RtPgd8BkZI Thank you turkey, that was jolly decent of you. Good luck for the rest of the season
The Enormous Turnip Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Nicely put away.. but jesus how can you call that a ground?!
Rocky Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Cheers for that. Also shows what a terrible view even the home fans get.£22.50 for an athletics stadium
Guest chubba Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Thank you turkey, that was jolly decent of you. Good luck for the rest of the seasonNah, that wasn't the penalty. Surely a team that was in the championship last year would not have a ground that looks like a park
Turkey Posted February 24, 2007 Author Posted February 24, 2007 Cheers for that. Also shows what a terrible view even the home fans get.£22.50 for an athletics stadium Yeah that is my camera zoomed in to the max as well. Although I thought at least you'd get a better view than from your end.
Rocky Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 No wonder you're desperate for a new ground. Terrible :noexpression:
BS10 RED Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 How do you handle watching from there every other week?
The Enormous Turnip Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 thats awfulagreed thats terrible, but the running track doesnt help atall, just puts you further away making it even worse
Turkey Posted February 24, 2007 Author Posted February 24, 2007 How do you handle watching from there every other week?A lot of people just cant be arsed anymore so don't bother going. Those that still do just get more and more fed up with it. People in recent years have whinged at us for going on about it all the time. I think any club would whinge about it if subjected to it week in week out.
Will Rollason Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Home end view:bloody hell son ...... :noexpression: well done you lot for turning upwas it a pen?

Turkey Posted February 24, 2007 Author Posted February 24, 2007 Are you sure youre a football supporter?you sound far too well balanced............ I can bitch with the best when its called for Wont fight a battle I don't believe in though
icamanicity Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I think we should help brighton in any way we can in their quest for a new ground, like any kind of support from anywhere in the country would be welcomed by the brighton support groups, if they just ask, I'm pretty sure we would help in any way...

Might help you lot as a club, to try getting the residents (or at least some) onside, to help you get a ground sorted. I forgot what a poxy place it is. Cant just impose on people, specially people who aint football fans. just a thought.
RedM Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I'm really shocked how a 1st division club can be allowed to stage their league matches in such poor surroundings.Full respect to you Turkey. I heard it was bad but didn't realise how bad until you've shown us. Is there absolutely no where else you can play? I think we were being charged £22.50 today which is way too much, but I can appreciate why your club has to charge those prices.I never thought I'd say it after you did us at the Mill Stad, but any fan deserves better than this. I wish you well. I thought it was all sorted for a new ground for you ? How the heck do you survive?
redmeanie Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 i couldnt care less. still havent forgiven brighton! hope their fans suffer that running track for eternity.

RedM Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 RedM........ when they beat us at the Millennium Stadium a few years back Brighton & Hove Albion then played their division 2 (championship) matches at the Withdean StadiumI remember them having banners at the Mill Stad about Prescott and planning permission for their new stadium, but thought plans were just about certain to go ahead or they find a proper alternative. I didn't realise it was so bad there and it looks more permanant than temporary now as it's been a few years. It obviously didn't, but I suppose them playing there against championship clubs there could have helped them, dragging them down to their level, bit like we've experienced with bad pitches.I know it's still a case at quite a few grounds but fans shouldn't be housed out in the open and should expect some basic cover at least? Look at the difference in that and our prawn sandwich section. I must be going soft!
cider head Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 yupunlike the one at the millennium stadium and your lot sing cheats to jevo? ruddy cheek
WTFiGO!?! Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I reckon issues like this (eg in our case /us in '82) would infact do this Club a world of good in term's of unity and spirit. Would really seperate City from the bullshitters and dare I say it might even help inject a bit of fun back into the course. My personal experiance of AFC Wimbledon always comes rushing to the forefront of my mind when I think of Brighton. Best of luck to 'em, really - despite everything.Incidentally, I view Brighton as an 'alternative' (not just for it's homosexual reputation) town same as one used to Wimbledon F.C the Club (RIP). MK Don's, their directors and 'supporters' have consigned themselves to Hell.
Turkey Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 Might help you lot as a club, to try getting the residents (or at least some) onside, to help you get a ground sorted. I forgot what a poxy place it is. Cant just impose on people, specially people who aint football fans. just a thought.I don't really see what more we could possibly do. The university's had concerns but we had meetings with them and sorted things out so they're onside. You say about imposing on people, this 'village' is next two major Universitys and a dual carriageway (actually 6 lanes at Falmer as its a junction). Besides the site isn't IN Falmer village. It's next too. Is there absolutely no where else you can play? I think we were being charged £22.50 today which is way too much, but I can appreciate why your club has to charge those prices.I thought it was all sorted for a new ground for you ? How the heck do you survive? No where else and the only realistic site for a new ground is at Falmer. We've spent millions of pounds proving this. The City voted in favour, the council voted in favour, Prescott voted in favour... and its still not sorted. With regards to the £22.50. It is a rip off. However the club make £6 on each ticket. Half of it goes to the council for rent, the rest to the train and bus companies for the 'free' travel we have to give to supporters. As you cant go to the ground by car. We've survived by selling our best players. Zamora 1.5mil, Virgo 1.5mil, Harding 750k, Cullip 250k, Currie 250k etc. With a stadium we could be a top flight club again. So many ex'BHA players in the prem now, Zamora, Sidwell, Ingimarsson, Barry, Henderson, Kazim-Richards etc.I didn't realise it was so bad there and it looks more permanant than temporary now as it's been a few years. It obviously didn't, but I suppose them playing there against championship clubs there could have helped them, dragging them down to their level, bit like we've experienced with bad pitches. We havent had a stadium for 10 years now. We've been at Withdean for 8. We spent a lot of money on our pitch and drainage a few years ago and it has actually been a superb playing surface for a long time and opposition managers made a lot of good comments about. It's finally now deterioated over recent weeks bad weather.
Guest BCFC Matthaus Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 MK Don's, their directors and 'supporters' have consigned themselves to Hell.Yeah, Milton Keynes is pretty bad isn't it?
